This is the single coolest thing I’ve ever seen either the PlayStation Eye or Xbox Live Vision cameras do. Using the PlayStation Eye, a Sony employee was able to draw something on a paper – say, some ground and a spaceship – and have the Eye translate that into an onscreen image that you’re able to play with. One example was drawing the aforementioned objects and then picking up a controller and playing a lunar lander-style game.

It’s pretty incredible stuff, especially the amount of time (or lack thereof) that it takes to make your drawing into a colored on-screen environment. Just sit back and imagine the possibilities.

Head over to PlayStation.Blog and check out the series of videos they have showcasing this technology.
