shouldn't Senators be concentrating their efforts on the war against terrorism or something. Video games should really be at the bottom of their priority list with all the shit hitting the fan in the world today.

You are absolutely right. When something goes wrong with kids, parents today think what happened? I paid for the schools, day cares. They think all it takes to raise a kid is money. So, when something goes wrong, they blame somebody else. Someone else is supposed to be paying attention to their kids.

There seems to be a lot of confusion in the world today about whose responsibility it is to raise children.

There also seems to be a mass void of common sense at work here.

Let's see, I have a kid, therefore it is NOT my responsibility to make sure he cleans up after himself, thinks for himself, answers to my authority, after all why should he answer to any authority or me either for that matter. No... life is so much easier if the government takes care of me by regulating what I can or can not see on TV, listen to on the radio, or play on my computer or console.

I absolutely need to be punished by a beauracrat and then I'll have an excuse for punishing some developer by sueing him out of business because they wrote a game I just couldn't say "NO" to.

Somebody please wake up and tell me this is a dream!!

You know what? Most parents dont care! In my store minors have to have a parent for m rated games. What is more, we make the parents read why it is m rated. You know what, i get yelled at for requiring this inconvenience. Parents get mad they have to come in from the car, read the back of the game, and say it is okay. So, when people say parents arent aware of what is in the games; at least in my store, that is their fault.

Well, I would like to say, that I think just making the content inaccessible by normal means, instead of just removing it, is a little less than um..

good?
hahahaha.

lets hack it.

IMO they should make some cheap ads for TV and newspapers that explain in no uncertain terms that some games are for adults only which would hopefully get some parents to wise up a bit.

They should also make it clear to stores that they have to be more responsible. Undercover buyers should check stores to make sure they are not selling them to children and the stores should have to make sure an adult purchaser is aware the game is unsuitable for children. Stores that dont do this should be punished suitably. This should include online stores like Amazon which should maybe seal the game in packaging saying its only suitable for adults.
