As if selling the most consoles was not enough, they had to go and scoop up the title for “most games in the top 20.” Well, at least in Japan.
Gamasutra is running a story about how not only are the top 20 hottest games in Japan either for the Nintendo DS or the Nintendo Wii, but with the exception of six of the top 20, all are made by Nintendo. (chart below)

Ah, prom night. It conjures up memories of corsages, tuxedos, and plumbers in red overalls stomping on turtles…waitaminute. Apparently, Chelsea High School held a Mario-themed prom, begging the question, just how many dorks are in their senior class? The decorators went all out too, creating several different Mario-inspired landscapes. But the pièce de résistance would have to be the giant working Nintendo controller that connected to a projector running the original Super Mario Bros.
What is wrong with the youth of today? I just want to know how someone managed to convince an entire senior class to go through with this. I personally love all things Mario, and I still would’ve thought this was a crazy idea.

Alright it’s crafts time, people. Get out your glue sticks, your cardboard, and your markers; this is elementary school all over again, everyone. Over at The Wii Cast, there’s a detailed guide on how to make your own clock that looks like the first level from Super Mario Bros., although I’m sure with a little imagination, you can create your own game scenarios.
Fun Fact: Did you know that the original NES Super Mario Bros. game was originally meant only as a time telling device? Initially you just had to hit the A button and the correct time would flash. Then Nintendo decided to slap together a game to put at the beginning of it. If you want to find out what time it is in Super Mario Bros. now, it’s as simple as completing the entire game without using any warp pipes, collecting 99 lives, killing yourself 98 times by running straight into Bowser, and then just killing Bowser with fireballs. Go on! Give it a try!
