Smash Bros. Brawl: Robot Chicken Style

smashkingdom1 Smash Bros. Brawl: Robot Chicken Style

Flash videos on the internet are usually hit or miss, but I’m marking this Smash Bros. Brawl parody as a hit. One flash aficionado by the name of Andrew Raskin along with a few partners in crime strung together several off-the-wall clips using pixel images of classic Nintendo characters to create “Smash Kingdom.” The result is a Robot Chicken-style spoof that’s pretty darn creative. Some of them aren’t very funny, but others are hilarious (namely any of the clips featuring Solid Snake). Besides, I’d been wondering what Geno had been up to since Super Mario RPG. It is quite NSFW and a little lengthy (about five minutes I’d guess), but you can check out the full video here.

Editorial: Halo 3 Has Spoiled Xbox Live Gamers

cryingbaby1 1 Editorial: Halo 3 Has Spoiled Xbox Live GamersI see its effects everywhere. I see it in gaming forums. I see it in reviews for other games. And I can’t help but think one thing: man, Halo 3 has spoiled Xbox 360 owners.

Let’s put the sub-par single-player campaign and the disputes over how good the multiplayer is aside for a second and get one thing straight: for an online gamer, Halo 3 has more options than any title before it. Online multiplayer with multiple modes, online co-op, splitscreen co-op, splitscreen multiplayer, theater mode, Forge: the list goes on. That’s a large part of the reason you can find plenty of people to play with at any hour of the day; there’s just that much to do. But now that I’ve been exposed to all these options in one package, I find myself viewing newer games in a much different light. Read the full article

The Lost (Fake) Nintendo Sex Ed. Tape

By Jonathan on Friday, November 9th, 2007 at 3:28 AM
In Gamer Life, Nintendo, Videos

This person who posted this on YouTube claims that their grandfather works for the American Board of Eduction and found this lost Nintendo sex ed. tape in the attic. I’m not buying that though, because it’s clearly just a mash-up of clips from Captain N and The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, but with different audio and images. Still, there’s something hilarious about two Italian plumbers teaching a young man about puberty and human sexuality while using ghosts to represent sperm and a Yoshi egg to represent, well, the egg. Throw in a few classic sound effects, and you’ve got a video that’s sure to confuse youngsters almost as much as it educates them. Just like the Look Who’s Talking movies.

super mario bros 3 Wii kly Update Includes Best. Mario. Ever.

Feel free to argue, but it’ll all be in vain – Super Mario Bros. 3 is the best Mario game in existence, and you know it. (Sorry Super Mario World.) In case you need a refresher, SMB3 is now available on the Virtual Console so that you have a fix of Mario until Mario Galaxy hits next week. 500 Wii Points ($5) makes it the cheapest game of the week, as joining it are Alien Soldier (900 points, $9) and Power Golf (600 point, $6).

Descriptions and details for all three games after the break.

Smash Bros. Brawl Delayed Until February 10

smashbrosbrawllogo11 Smash Bros. Brawl Delayed Until February 10

Remember yesterday, when it was announced that Sonic the Hedgehog would be showing up in Smash Bros. Brawl? Good times…good times. But you better put away the party hats for now, as that really was just a way of softening the blow for the next big Smash Bros. announcement. Turns out you won’t be having that Smash Bros. Christmas party, as the game has been delayed until February 10th. Basically, this holiday season, the Wii doesn’t have much going for it. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Super Mario Galaxy had better be spectacular.

Smash Bros. Brawl Delayed?

smashbrosbrawllogo1 Smash Bros. Brawl Delayed?

It seems the recent news of Sonic joining the gang in Smash Bros. Brawl may have been meant to soften the blow of another announcement for the game. Apparently, reports are coming in that the game has been delayed in Japan until January of next year. No word yet on when the game could possibly come out stateside yet.

Well, this puts quite a big hitch in Nintendo’s holiday line-up. Let’s just hope Super Mario Galaxy is nothing short of amazing.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl – ‘Solid Snake’ Video

The newest trailer featuring footage from Super Smash Bros. Brawl is of Metal Gear Solid’s Snake – and he and Mario are putting the ‘whooping’ on each other. The intro to the video is very tongue-in-cheek, and shows an intel conversation regarding Mario – then clips of the fighting ensue. Nintendo’s latest incarnation in the popular Super Smash Bros. series of titles features all new characters ranging from Kirby and Wario to Samus, and will be released on December 3rd.

Wii-kly Update Brings New Import Genre, Lost Levels

mario2 japan boxart Wii kly Update Brings New Import Genre, Lost Levels

This is certainly a great way to kick off the week: Nintendo has launched the “Import” genre on Virtual Console, so finally we have a way to play all of the classic games that never came to the US. Legally. In English. And better yet, you can do so today as both Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (NES) and Sin & Punishment (N64) – two games which were never released in North America (well, The Lost Levels did in some form) – have been released. They’ll come with an increased price from their respective platforms’ norms, though; The Lost Levels will cost 600 Wii Points (NES games normally cost 500) and Sin & Punishment will cost 1,200 (N64 games are normally 1,000). You can’t really blame Nintendo for seeking a little more money since the games need to be localized, but they really must be cleaning up thanks to the Virtual Console.

Descriptions for both games after the break.
