Sometimes, I find some really interesting lots for sale on eBay. Doing a little searching today, I came across a lot of 400 video games for $3,199.99 + Shipping (US $250, Canada $400). That works out to about $8.62 per game if you have it shipped to the United States. Keep in mind that a majority of the games are for the PS2 and original Xbox. I’m not sure what a collection like this would cost you at a store like GameStop for example, but I think the price would actually be pretty close. I wouldn’t classify this as a great deal, but it would be sweet to have all these games in your collection. If the price were closer to say $2,000 for all 400, I’d consider buying it myself.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Albatross18, it is an MMO/casual golf simulation game that is free to play, although certain items can only be purchased with actual money. However, all characters are free, and an effort has been made to minimize the differences between monetary users and ‘free’ users. The game awards players with Pang Points, a currency that can be used to upgrade your character and your items which in turn will give you the upper hand as you play the game and its many number of courses.
I was lucky enough to have a chat with Jack Liu recently, who is the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer from OGPlanet and I asked him a few questions regarding his latest endeavor Albatross 18 Season 3 Revolution. Readers will remember Jack from the previous interview we had with him back in August regarding Rumble Fighter.

In Sony, Sony

It’s been anticipated for quite some time and certain companies already unintentionally confirmed its existence, but yesterday at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show conference Kaz Hirai confirmed a new Sixaxis controller with rumble – Dual Shock 3.
Kaz mentioned this being in response to what the fanbase was clamoring for. A number of titles at TGS are playable with rumble (in addition to Burnout Paradise) including Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted, and Rachet & Clank. Already-released games will support rumble; a full list of titles can be seen after the break.
The controller will be released in Japan this fall and in the spring for the US and Europe. If I was in the market for a PS3 this holiday season, I might hesitate knowing that next year there will be a superior controller released that I’ll then have to drop $50 on (which is presumably what the price of the controller will be) to get the best gaming experience. But, it’s likely this move is being made to sell through all Sixaxis controllers out there before the new wave hits.
Check after the break for a list of games that will support rumble.

In case you haven’t heard of Rumble Fighter, it’s the free to play action game focused on fighting from OGPlanet. Recently, Gaming Today was lucky enough to sit down with Jack Liu, the Cofounder and Chief Creative Officer at OGPlanet, to ask him a few questions regarding this fun martial arts inspired game with its patented “Exocore” system.
GT: Please introduce yourself and tell our readers a little about Rumble Fighter.
Jack Liu: Hello Gaming Today, I’m Jack Liu – Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer at OGPlanet. Since OGPlanet is a video game company, being the chief creative dude pretty much means I get to dabble in everything the company does – from game localization and production, to overseeing our community department and marketing strategy. But ultimately, my job is simply to make sure all of our players have as much fun as possible when they launch one of our titles. This makes me really excited to introduce our newest online game – Rumble Fighter. On the surface, Rumble Fighter is a melee style fighting game, featuring up to 8-player battle modes where players can either gang up in teams, or duke it out on their own in true last-man-standing fashion. But what really sets this title apart from any other online fighting game is in the customization options players have when building their fighters. Not only can you alter your appearance (facial features, costumes, accessories, etc.), but Rumble Fighter features a “Sacred Scroll†system that allows players to choose from a wide variety of actual fighting methods, each with their own distinct style and special combo moves. Like ninjas? Then go with Ninjitsu. Dig Bruce? Then go with Jeetkundo. From Taekwondo to Kungfu, classic Boxing to Jujitsu, Rumble Fighter gives players the freedom to create their version of the ultimate fighter. The entire game is free to play but features upgradeable items that can either be bought with in-game points (known as Carats), or with OGPlanet’s universal cyber-cash (Astros). Players can upgrade their fighters purely through the use of Carats by simply collecting them as they play, but may choose to spend some real money for premium items that are not available for Carats. The beauty of this system is that it allows players to decide how much they want to spend, if anything at all, within Rumble Fighter.

Looking for something fun?
You are? Good.
How about something free?
Yeah? Okay, stay with me.
If you are reading still reading this post, (and I assume you are) then I have some good news for you. The “Full Release†version of Rumble Fighter will be launching in just a few hours. This is a big step for a game that has been running in beta for as long as it has, and this update will add a great deal more content to the series.
Rumble Fighter is an online fighting game, where 8 players can battle it out simultaneously. (Sort of like the classic fighter ‘Power Stone’, only much deeper) There are 4 distinct classes, each with the ability to be customized by a variety of items that you earn by fighting.
Rumble Fighter also features a robust community section, with guilds and updated player rankings available on their website. This “commercial†version of the game will be available on Filefront as soon as it hits, so be sure to check back soon to join in on the fun. I’ll see you guys there.

In Gamer Life

There is a strange tradition in Japanese games where players can change the costume of main characters after unlocking or completing some task or mission. I’ve never understood the attraction but Leigh Alexander’s The Aberrant Gamer column has a top 5 list of the oddest, most aberrant costumes in game history. I’m not sure I completely agree with her choices, as I think any of a dozen female costumes in Rumble Roses or Virtua Fighter games are weirder than the ones she’s highlighted – The God of War II Cod of War Suit takes the cake. I’m sure there are some even I have not seen out there.. maybe we should hold a contest to find the oddest alternate costume suggestion here in the comments section of this post.. link to an image of the oddest costume you’ve seen in a video game.
