Survival horror finally has finally made an appearance on the PlayStation Store with yesterday’s release of Siren: Blood Curse. The Sony-developed episodic game can be bought in its entirety for $40, or you can buy the three episode packs (each including three episodes) for $15 each.
A small selection of downloadable games on PSN have been temporarily discounted as part of a summer game sale. PAIN, PixelJunk Monsters, High Velocity Bowling, High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition and Rocketmen: Axis of Evil have had their price cut in half, from $10 to $5, for just one week. $5 for PixelJunk Monsters is an absolute bargain, and most PAIN owners would probably say that $5 is what the price should have always been.
Hit the break for the full list of content, which includes 1942: Joint Strike, new Guitar Hero III and Rock Band tracks, and a demo of PixelJunk Eden.

A title like that doesn’t write itself very often, so I’m happy to take advantage. The new Rocketmen expansion pack, It Came From Uranus, is now available on the PlayStation Store. You’ll also now find two new Hot Shots Golf characters, each of which cost $.99, and are small enough that I reckon they’re already on the Blu-ray disc you hold in your hands.
Rounding out the DLC scene is this week’s installment of Rock Band tracks and 21 new Karaoke Revolution: American Idol tracks.
You’ll also find demos of both Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit and Overlord Raising Hell, new videos, trailers, themes, and wallpapers.
Hit the break to see all of the today’s new content.

One of the highlights of last years E3 for me was my trip to visit and interview the folks at Capcom about their upcoming games. I was jazzed about the upcoming Harvey Birdman game, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles looked like it was going to resurrect the arcade rail-shooter on the last platform I’d have expected and the Street Fighter II ultimate hand-drawn coolness edition was in the works. One of the titles that flew somewhat under the radar at the time was the Xbox Live! arcade game Rocketmen : Axis of Evil. I even wrote a quick preview of it during our E3 coverage.
Even the PR guy who politely showed me around did not have any clue what the game was based on so I guess he was surprised when I mentioned that the title was an interesting choice for a license built around a constructible card game where ship-to-ship combat was the main focus. Instead of the Star Control-like melee I would have expected instead I was watching someone grind through a swarm of burly Martians in a Smash TV-like top down shooter.

The lone Xbox Live Arcade release this week is the action game Rocketmen: Axis of Evil. It is, like so many other XBLA games, a shooter, but it looks to set itself apart from the competition with an actual storyline and its pretty, cel-shaded graphics. The Xbox.com description:
Join Nick Sion, Alec Mink and the Alliance of Free Planets in their white-knuckled, frenzied struggle to free the Solar System from the tyrannical grip of the Legion of Terra! Rocketmen®: Axis of Evil provides non-stop multiplayer action with role-playing game elements, including customizable characters and an engaging story, all wrapped in the game’s distinctive cel-shaded art style. Play with up to four players in co-op mode and blast anything that moves.
- Customize your character: Create, customize, and level up your own individual Rocketmen characters with new items, abilities, and looks.
- Multiplayer action: Join with friends to save the galaxy in four-player cooperative play locally or online.
- Your choice: Choose from three races: Human, Mercurian, or Venusian, and from three classes: Warrior, Engineer, or Outcast.
- Explosive action: Simple, addictive, and highly explosive gameplay blasts onto your TV in high-definition with plenty of levels, hordes of enemies, and lots of fun.
The game is releasing tomorrow on the PlayStation Store. The game costs 800 Microsoft Points ($10) and is available now.
I’m personally willing to give the game a shot since it’s trying to do something different, albeit in a shooter package.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Too many cooks spoil the broth?” Well those cooks never had to create a video game apparently. Capcom has posted on their blog that they’ve got 15 different projects in the works, so they’re looking to add more people to their staff to help them out. They’re hoping to attract people who have been involved with AAA titles in the past and are tired of working for huge conglomerates. Of those 15 project though, only seven have actually been announced though:
We’ve got 15 different projects cooking right now (and more to come) – many that have been announced like Dark Void, Street Fighter 2 HD Remix, Commando 3, Rocketmen, Talisman, MotoGP, Okami Wii, and many more titles that haven’t even been announced. Yet.
Seems like Street Fighter IV should be added to that list. Still, that does make me curious about just what Capcom else Capcom could be up to these days.
