requiem bloodymare Update 4.0 Comes to Requiem: BloodymareToday around 2:00 p.m. EST the servers for Gravity Interactive’s horror-MMORPG, Requiem: Bloodymare, will get an update. Version 4.0 will open up areas of Ethergia, long thought abandoned or inaccessible, will allow any Temperion brave enough to enter access to the horrors that lie within.

There are also four new instance dungeons, Dark Sanctum, Robina Mines, Wrecked Ship of Ru Buran, and Doom Cheras Lair:

  • Dark Sanctum: A testing facility established in Media’nos, where some of the nightmare monsters were gathered and forced to venture to Ethergia. It is mostly devoid of monsters thanks to the guards now protecting Nach’s Eye from the inside. However, it’s believed that Lord Werinuman and his Generals still dwell inside this dungeon.
  • Robina Mines: Once a major source of precious metals for the people of Numara has been taken over by Blackhands. Alban is recruiting every able bodied Temperion in an effort to take back what is rightfully theirs.
  • Wrecked Ship of Ru Buran: Many secrets of a lost ancient civilization can be found in the wreckage. However you will have to brave through hordes of lost spirits of the ships crew.
  • Doom Cheras Lair: An entry was found near the Ion Tree of Fire in North Hammerine, into the lair of a fire breathing dragon believed to be even more violent than Ruinhorn. He is rumored to never leave his lair, however many are too fearful to even get close enough to check.

Full patch details can be found here and on the Official Forums. Good luck to the Temperions brave or foolish enough to take on these new challenges.

Requeim: Bloodymare – Get to Know Your Possession Beasts

jvscekwesk Requeim: Bloodymare Get to Know Your Possession Beasts

In Requiem: Bloodymare, Possession Beasts are powerful beings that can take the most horrific of monsters and make it beg for its life… while it has a mouth, that is.

Remnants of an ancient tribe, the Possession Beasts are rare and powerful creatures. Born from sealed relics, the Beasts are the lasting heritage of the Khun, a human-beast hybrid tribe from southeast Parness. Taming the beast sealed within the relics, Temperions can summon forth the great power of these beasts. With the brawling Giont and the intelligent Rebria, Temperions can temporarily enhance their own fighting abilities with the beast’s skills. Most fighters prefer the Giont’s skill, feeling their own strength and power swell into crushing blows. The caster classes stay more towards Rebria, preferring to use their wits to freeze enemies at a distance. As more of Ethergia is explored, who knows what other beast relics lay in wait, patiently waiting for a new owner to tame them and bring them to bear against their foes.

Starting on level 23, players can take the Forgotten Relics quest and obtain their first Possession Beast at the end of the quest-chain. Another way to obtain a Possession Beast is by hunting monsters of level 40 and above. Once a player’s Hardcore Gauge is full, he or she can call upon their Possession Beast (just like they would activate a skill) and use it inflict maximum damage on their enemies.

More information on Possession Beasts Giont and Rebria is posted after the break. They don’t come out that often, so when they do, it’s always a fun time. For more information on this Mature MMO, check out our previous posts on the game.

Requiem: Bloodymare – Let’s Talk Turans

requiem bloodymare

Here is another bit of information regarding one of the races in Requiem: Bloodymare, the extremely violent and bloody (thus the title) horror MMORPG.

Turans have balanced strength, agility and are intelligent despite their low resistance to magic. They are also the most balanced race of Ethergia, and although they don’t have any distinctively outstanding strengths, they are renowned for their tenacity and solidarity. They are a rational race that upholds justice, preferring balanced and harmonized combat styles, quick movements, and agility over the use of brute force. They are also adept at learning the other races’ abilities, adapting the divine magic of the Xenoas for their own use.

Combat-wise, Turans are average, in terms of strength and spirit, but they excel in agility, learning, and intelligence. These qualities enable them to learn and utilize a great variety of skills. They are a highly moral race, so Turans tend to use humane skills that do not unnecessarily torture their enemies in battle.

When relating to other races, the Turan and Bartuk races utilized fighting styles dependent on skills based on physical strength early in their histories. However, the Turans eventually began to also develop a more balanced combat style with moves that combine strength, agility and quick thinking since the Bartuks were physically stronger. During the era of the Xenon Empire, many Turans studied divine magic and became adepts. They are naturally opposed to the dark magic wielding Kruxenas, and are vulnerable to their magic attacks.

Job classes for the Turan are defender or templar with second jobs being commander, protector, tempest, or radiant.

Requiem: Bloodymare Registration for Open Beta Begins Today

requiem: bloodyamre

If you have been wanting to get in on the Requiem: Bloodymare beta but did not get your chance with the closed beta, now you can be a happy little camper. Today, registration for the Requiem: Bloodymare beta begins and once you have filled out all the correct forms so to speak, you can begin playing it May 15 – which is tomorrow for my date-challenged friends. To download the beta, click on the badge below.

I am a participant in the closed beta for Bloodymare, and while I can’t really talk to much about it, I can say that it is indeed a dark, bloody-horror of a place full of seeping evil. If this is your sort of thing, you will really enjoy it, but if you like a lot of sunshine, bunnies, rainbows and unicorns hopping around your screen, steer clear of it because if those creatures existed in Bloodymare, their heads would be on a spike, the sun would be blown to bits, and any rainbow that surfaced would be quickly corrupted by the sheer amount of grotesque evil that abounds in that place.

new releases

We are all well aware that the giant that is GTA IV will be hitting stores on Tuesday. We also know that Mario Kart Wii will be released tomorrow, which is Sunday, which is a weird day for a game release, which is why I am using the world “which” so much.

Nevertheless, there ARE other games hitting shelves next week, and while they deserve just as much attention as any other highly anticipated title, whoever decided that this would be a great week to launch their game needs either a reality check or to lay off the sauce.

Here are the games slated to hit shelves next week. As always, we are not responsible for any changes to said dates – blame the publisher, not us. Since there are not as many releases as previous weeks, I did not break them down by system this time and listed the date instead:

The Requiem: Bloodymare Community Manager has announced that closed beta period for the MMO has been extended until Thursday April 17th, 2008. Apparently the MMO needs more time for optimization and polishing before entering the stress testing phase.

Requiem: Bloodymare Trailer Will Rip Your Soul to Shreds

By Stephany on Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 at 10:02 AM
In Computer, Game Companies, Game Platforms, Gamer Life, Games

bloodymare

It’s midnight. Even seasoned and strong Temperions, those who no longer flinch at the sight of severed monster heads, fear the night. They’ve heard the stories, they’ve seen the bodies.

At first, all you hear is the rustling of something in the dark. As the blood moon rises and the world grows silent, you realize your worst fears, heinous Nightmare Monsters that ravage the world, have now found you. You tighten your grip, feeling the weight of the broadsword. Deep in the darkness, they lie still…

If you were lucky enough to get in on the beta you know what to expect from Requiem: Bloodymare, if not, well let me just say that it is indeed one big barrel of bloody fun.

You have to go through an age gate to view the newest trailer, but that is no big deal. Also, If you would like more information on the game, check out our previous posts.

Bloody Good Screens From Requiem: Bloodymare

By Stephany on Tuesday, March 18th, 2008 at 9:14 AM
In Computer, Game Companies, Game Platforms, Gamer Life, Games

requiem: bloodymare

I have been playing the beta for Requiem: Bloodmare for a couple of weeks now, and it is indeed a pretty interesting game to say the least. While I am still new to the realm of MMOs, this is definitely not one for teenagers. When Gravity Interactive stated that this was an “adult” oriented MMO they weren’t kidding around one bit.

Requiem: Bloodymare portrays a post-apocalyptic world where genetic manipulation and dark magic have resulted in war, famine and truly grotesque monsters. Players take the role of the genetically-enhanced and magically-adept Temperion soldiers, powerful beings who hold the last best hope for Ethegia.

For more information about the game, check out our previous posts and check out these new screens and see for yourself what all the fuss is about.

New Trailer Featuring Game Footage from Requiem: Bloodymare

Requiem: Bloodymare Trailer (WM)

The newest trailer for Gravity Interactive’s horror based MMO is bloody violent. I mean that in the most complimentary sense though, because I am honestly looking forward to trying out Requiem: Bloodymare, especially now that I have my beta key. Watching the latest collage of action shots from the game with some nice, angry, metal music in the background pumped me up for it even more than the last trailer, and since the beta starts today, my weekend is pretty much planned out for me. Since I am starting to get the hang of what to expect out of an MMO, and also add to the fact that I am no longer prejudiced towards them, this could be just what the doctor ordered.

If you found this trailer interesting, and are looking for an MMO that caters to a mature audience, check out our previous posts on Requiem: Bloodymare.
