Another Saturday, another batch of demos and patches. These posts have become known as the posts with the most links on the site, and with good reason – the links take you to the stuff that you need and want more than anything else in life. Ok, maybe that was grossly overstated, but still, gaming is an important part of life, and if you did not agree with that sentiment, then you would not be here in the first place.
The most popular demos downloaded this week were: WH40K DOW: Soulstorm, Rising Eagle Futuristic Infantry Warfare, and of course Enemy Territory: Quake Wars v2.
As far as patches went: Enemy Territory: Quake Wars v1.4 (Linux), StarCraft: Brood War, and Painkiller: Overdose proved to be the most popular of the bunch.
This week, we also received some interesting game clients such as: Savage 2: A Tortured Soul (full), Ragnarok Online PT.1 and PT.2, Sakray, UFO: Alien Invasion v2, and D&D Online Free Trial were extremely sought after this week.
For the full list of clients, demos, and patches just click on their respective links.

Wow, where do I begin? I played the original Painkiller as far back as when it was still in alpha, seeing the potential that was there, and now I sit here dreading to so much as think about playing Overdose. I tried giving it a chance, playing through a chunk of the single-player and a few multiplayer matches, but I always ended up with the same taste in my mouth – this simply isn’t a fun game.
Oftentimes when writing a review and making a blanket statement like that, you can offset it by recommending it to a certain demographic, such as diehard fans of the series or someone just looking for some straightforward fun. And while I could say that diehard Painkiller fans might find more to appreciate here than a typical FPS fan, I’m not going to – because even if you’re so vested in getting every detail about the story that you’d willingly play the game, you’ll still find that there’s no fun to be had.

The new clip for Painkiller: Overdose might be short, but it shows you how intense and crazy it can get. Available for the PC, we still have a demo hosted on FileFront that you can download by clicking here. You might want to hurry up and watch this clip before it gets put behind an age gate – although it is not really all that bad. It is definitely not any worse than some of the others that do not have an age gate and are rated “T” for Teen.

DreamCatcher have announced that Painkiller: Overdose, the next installment in the critically-acclaimed and award-winning franchise Painkiller, has shipped to retail stores for the PC.
Frantic-styled gameplay is back in full force and the sequel is packed with tons of fast-paced, single player and multiplayer levels of mayhem. Painkiller: Overdose brings with it 8 demonic weapons, mind-bending physics, lightning-player maps, over 40 monsters and gigantic end bosses.
“FPS fans – get ready for another gory dose of intense painkilling action!” said Albert Seidl, president of the JoWooD Group. “We have worked closely with the talented development team at Mindware Studios to bring what started out as a community mod to a full-fledged shooter that we are all very excited about.”
For more information on Painkiller: Overdose, check out our previous posts. I have provided a link to the newest trailer for the game here, and you have to go through an age gate to view it. We seem to be getting a lot of those these days.
We have a demo for the game on FileFront and you can get it by clicking on the badge below.

There’s a new trailer up for Painkiller Overdose, the follow up to the gritty FPS from a few years ago. Once again, you’ll be tearing through the legions of the underworld using a variety of crazy weapons. The video mostly shows a few creepy new enemies that you’ll be able to eviscerate. The game is due out later this month, but you can also check out a demo for the game until then.

Have you eradicated your quota of hellish monsters this week? Are you looking for a faster pace of gameplay than Portal offered up?
If so, we’re here to help. The next chapter in the Painkiller series, Painkiller: Overdose, now has a demo available for download on FileFront. This demo places the player into the role of Belial, a new character out for vengeance as he suffers the repercussions of Daniel defeating Lucifer in the original Painkiller.
This demo includes 2 singleplayer and 2 multiplayer levels for your perusal. If you like what you see, keep in mind that Painkiller: Overdose is set to release worldwide on October 23rd for a suggested retail price of $39.99 USD.
You can grab the demo right now by clicking here.
You can also get videos, screenshots, and other goodies over over at FileFront by clicking here.
For more information, check out the Painkiller: Overdose official site.

New gameplay footage of Painkiller: Overdose has hit the net giving us a more glimpses of the mod turned commercial title.
For those not in-the-know, Painkiller: Overdose started out as a community mod for the original Painkiller first person shooter game. Publisher DreamCatcher was so impressed with the mod, that they decided to fully fund and back the development team known today as Mindware Studios. Unlike Painkiller and its expansion, Overdose places the player in the role of Belial, a half-angel half-demon gatekeeper. Painkiller: Overdose will present the player with 6 new weapons to battle 40 monsters through 16 new levels.
Overdose is not a true sequel to the previous expansion Painkiller: Battle Out of Hell, but more of a bridge to a potential sequel. Painkiller: Overdose is due sometime this fall, possibly October 31st if all things go according to the Dark Lord himself. Pricing is as of yet to be determined.
You can check out more info on the game at The Official Painkiller: Overdose Website.

Dreamcatcher Interactive and JoWood Productions have just announced that they will be publishing Painkiller: Overdose, a follow-up to the high-energy FPS that had gamers battling through the forces of hell. The game originally started out as a community mod, but with JoWood and Dreamcatcher backing the Mindware team financially now, they’re able to convert it into a full retail game. Don’t let the fact that this game started out as a mod detract you though, as it will come packed with enough features to warrant the a retail price:
- A Prequel to the eventual Sequel bridges the storyline and ties up wandering ends.
- Overdose introduces a new character and storyline that examines the repercussions of Daniel defeating Lucifer in the original Painkiller!
- 16 NEW levels of fast-paced pain-killing action!
- 6 New demonic weapons grant the powers of a demi-god to souls awaiting damnation everywhere!
- Crafted and designed completely by Mindware Studios; long-time advocates and fans of the game.
- A reshuffled Tarot deck infuses Belial with new powers and devastating combinations.
- An innovative direction in the Painkiller universe!
- Over 40 demented and sickly-twisted monsters from Hell
- New End Bosses of colossal statures standing guard over Hell’s crumbling domain and the entrances to the other realms!
- A revitalized commitment to multiplayer introduces a series of stats tracking features and game server options intended to revamp the multiplayer experience.
- Multiplayer compatibility with original Painkiller multiplayer maps and game modes!
You can check out more at the official site. Painkiller: Overdose is slated to appear on store shelves this October.
