The translation from video game to film is an undeniably shaky one. With gaming in general becoming more and more mainstream, it seems that film studios are buying up the rights to every popular title. Hopefully, a faithful adaptation of a gaming franchise will make to the big screen. Until then, we are left with just speculation. So the obvious question is, who would we pick to act as our beloved game heroes? Here’s what I came up with:
What game? Assassin’s Creed Lead role? James Caviezel as Altair Where do I know him from? Passion of the Christ, The Count of Monte Cristo

There are moments when it looks like the PS3 is going to shine. This is definitely one of those moments.
I have to be honest–I really do want a Playstation 3. The truth is that I’m not willing to spend the money on it, but this new trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4 looks amazing.
The cinematics and production value for video games has increased impressively over the years, and this is a shining example of how far games have come. And being a film buff, I’d have to say I love it.

Well, summer is here, and what better way to celebrate than with a BBQ. But while you’re cooking up steaks and burgers, that PS3 is sitting all alone in the corner waiting for Metal Gear Solid 4 to come out. So why not just gut the $600 machine and outfit it with a grill? With a little effort you could give George Foreman some competition.
Rumors have been flying around that the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4 might be heading to the Xbox 360 as well as the PS3. So what did Konami have to say about this? Well, unfortunately not much really. Digital Spy recently tried to get an answer out of them, but were only told that the idea was just “speculation.” So they didn’t confirm the rumor, but they didn’t deny it either; so there’s still a chance it could happen. My guess is that maybe the idea of bringing the game to the Xbox after it’s had a run on the Playstation is currently in talks. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Here’s a short but interesting video slide show. It basically shows the evolution of some of the most popular series in gaming. It includes Grand Theft Auto, Project Gotham Racing, Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet and Clank, Tekken, Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, and Mario.
Props to PSU for getting this video on YouTube. The music to go along with the memories definitely works with this one.
The exclusive PS3 lineup took another beating today. The future-based military FPS, Haze, rumored to be exclusive to the PS3, actually is not.
Free Radical Design, the team responsible for Haze, and known for their work on TimeSplitters, settled the rumor today when asked about it. The developer said that production of Haze for the PC and XBox 360 has been underway all along, and that the title was never exclusive to the PS3.
With the Final Fantasy delay that Stephany reported earlier, and the Metal Gear Solid 4 delay I reported last week, the holiday potential of the PS3 just keeps taking hits.

Spiderman 3 has to stay on top two more weeks to match it’s predecessor which maintained the lead for five weeks on it’s release three years ago. It will have some stiff competition next week with several new releases hitting the shelves. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, driven by movies sales, will be a stiff competitor. Mario Strikers Charged for Wii, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales for DS and Crash for PSP will also be released this Friday.
Well, I have some bad news for PS3 owners. Metal Gear Solid 4 has apparently been delayed to March 1, 2008. It’s being reported that EB Games and Gamestop customers are receiving emails detailing the release date changes.
This is pretty disappointing, as one of the major reasons to own a PS3 was the upcoming release of the newest installment in the Metal Gear series. I wonder, will this affect sales of the PS3 for the holiday season? We’ve got the text of the email that was sent out in the full article.
