EA is celebrating ten years of its popular Medal of Honor series. To kick off the festivities planned from now into 2009, EA is releasing five Medal of Honor PC games with lots of multimedia extras in one bundle for $39.99.
Here are the details on all of the World War II FPS goodness packed into the Medal of Honor 10th Anniversary bundle:
- All 5 Medal of Honor games released for the PC, including Medal of Honor Allied Assault, Medal of Honor Spearhead, Medal of Honor Breakthrough, Medal of Honor Pacific Assault Director’s Edition, and Medal of Honor Airborne — that’s over 50 single player levels and dozens of multiplayer maps
- The exclusive Medal of Honor 10th Anniversary soundtrack, featuring 14 tracks of the series’ award-winning score composed by Michael Giacchino
- Strategy guides covering every mission in Medal of Honor Allied Assault
- Exclusive in-game weapons
- Documentaries on the use of propaganda and battlefield training in World War II
- Interviews with WWII veterans
- Behind the scenes footage on the making of the Medal of Honor franchise
- Everything is included for the low price of $39.99, perfect for the die hard Medal of Honor fan and a great price point for those who have not yet had the chance to experience the definitive World War II FPS experience
Over all the Medal of Honor 10th Anniversary bundle sounds like a pretty good deal with the soundtrack and the extra media offerings thrown in. Enthusiasts should be thrilled. I’m looking forward to seeing what events EA has planned to fire up gamers’ interest in a niche genre that to be brutally honest has been tapped out.

EA and Epic Games have announced that they are expanding their license agreement with the Unreal Engine 3. The company has already used the engine in several title, including Medal of Honor Airborne and Army of Two. According to the agreement, EA will implement the engine in at least five new title currently under development.
“With the largest and most talented studio operation in the world, it’s critical for us to give our studio teams the best tools they need to make great games,” said Frank Gibeau, President, at EA. “This agreement reflects our commitment to Epic’s technology which, in combination with our own cutting-edge systems, allows us to create ground breaking hits.”
That just leaves us to speculate at what games EA could be working on that would involve this technology. My guess is that they’re all going to involve shooting stuff though.

Old Man Winter decided to dump a little over 6 inches of snow on us last night. Looking out into that glorious winter wonderland, memories of sledding as a kid and making snowmen sprang to mind as I looked out over my vast bright white yard. I contemplated getting all bundled up in coveralls (yes I own a pair, wanna fight about it?) and my boots and creating a snowman so intricate and creative that I would be the envy of all the neighbors for having such a neat piece of art adorning my front lawn. Then reality can running in and viciously kicked my fantasy in the crotch. I then realized that I am not 10 years old anymore, and no one wants to see a grown woman in coveralls slipping and falling all over the place – and due to the bulkiness and weight said coveralls, rolling around in the snow trying desperately to get up. That would be very undignified, plus, I have never been patient enough to sculpt a really cool snowman, let alone one that any four year old could outdo – so I stayed in the house and worked instead. Such is the life of a grown-up.
Whether, like me, you are too old to play in the snow, are deficient of snow, or are just glued lethargically to your computer trying desperately to fill the void of another boring Saturday afternoon, you can always try out some of our latest demos or download some patches you may have been unaware of.
Here are some of the demos that hit FileFront this week: Arctic Stud Poker Run, Auto Cross Racing, and Tumblebugs 2.
Patches that hit FileFront this week are as follows: Frontlines: Fuels of War, SimCity Societies, Tales of Pirates, Gears of War, Medal of Honor: Airborne, Crysis and tons more.
As always, for the complete list click here and here. Have a great weekend.

Yes, it’s Wednesday…and Halloween. But more importantly it’s Wednesday, which means another hilarious game review from The Escapist’s resident Brit, Yahtzee Croshaw. This week he takes us on a light-hearted romp through World War II, with his review of Medal of Honor: Airborne. After a couple of games in recent weeks that he enjoyed, it’s actually nice to see he played a game that he absolutely despised, since that makes for the most comedy.

Halloween is here, and what better way to celebrate than by paying homage to some of the most notorious ghouls and monsters to grace our PCs and consoles? Without such cannon fodder as spiders, vampires and zombies we would be condemned to just shooting our fellow man, which although fun, would get old after a while. In compiling this list, I came across some notables worthy of an honorable mention, but who have yet to become mainstream enough to cross over into different genres, and instead continue to be pigeon holed within their niche. While this list is in no way a complete list of video game baddies, it is instead a list of some of the most common miscreants to get within our pistol sites or in the vicinity of our broadsword.
These distractions on our way to victory in our gaming universe are also not listed in order of importance or occurrence rate – because face it – one is just as annoying and evil as the other. Unfortunately, these monsters never get the glory that their bosses do, because they are nothing more than expendable minions set upon our paths to deplete our life force so that the main antagonist may continue with more important matters – World Domination. In truth, they become nothing more than something for you to enjoy chopping to bits or a vessel for extra health, magic, or cash, the poor, misguided fools. So without further ado, let me introduce you to the stars of this post.
