The Last Remnant Trailer 3

Square Enix announced another RPG for console lovers in Europe, North American and other PAL territories today. The Last Remnant is expected to be released sometime this Winter for the Xbox 360 and like Star Ocean: The Last Hope and Infinite Undiscovery, it is also being developed by tri Ace.Long ago, the world was filled with Remnants – mysterious artifacts from an ancient civilization. But as time passed, the powers of the Remnants began to shift the world’s balance. As the rift widened between those who ruled and those who were ruled over, a new era dawned: one of countless frays brought upon the world by those enslaved by their own lust for power. A thousand years later, the journey of one young man begins…

Imagine a vast, war-torn battlefield, scarred by years of conflict where countless enemies surround the player, who is backed up by his own army. Threatened by numerous foes and saved in the nick of time by allies, players will feel the true tension of a soldier on the battlefield. The Last Remnant features a battle system has been carefully crafted to deliver a brand-new experience for gamers, as they control forces in massive battles between up to seventy different units at once.

PS3 owners will also be able to get in on this upcoming RPG, but a tentative release schedule has yet to be announced. More information on both versions of The Last Remnant will be given to attendees at this year’s E3 according to Square Enix.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope Trailer

Square Enix announced Star Ocean: The Last Hope today for the Xbox 360. This is the latest entry in the futuristic space opera RPG series Star Ocean and is scheduled for a global release in 2009 – but specific dates have yet to be decided.

Also known as Star Ocean 4, in The Last Hope players will experience a battle system that features 4 party members, and is also more team-oriented that the previous entries in the series. The hero’s name is Edge Maverick, along with the heroine, Reimi and the has more of a sci-fi emphasis than past titles, with the ability to control your own ship. The ship is quite large, and will be able to land on at least 5 planets or other space-based destinations. The game will also take place a few centuries before the original Star Ocean.

Working directly with tri Ace (Infinite Undiscovery) Square Enix producer Yoshinori Yamagishi stated during a conference that while Star Ocean: The Last Hope is indeed being released on the Xbox 360 first Square Enix has not decided whether it will be released on the PS3 as of yet. Infinite Undiscovery Screens Look Pretty as a Picture

infinite undiscovery

I don’t know what else to say about the new screens for Infinite Undiscovery other than they have Square Enix smeared all over them. Anyway, come September 2nd RPG fans who own an Xbox 360 will be able to take part in various situations unfolding in a world that changes in real time, with players’ choices leading to “unknown discoveries.” The actions taken by the player with each discovery will have a real-time impact on the world and situational battles offer a variety of dramatic alternatives such as executing a daring escape while a gigantic ogre follows in hot pursuit, or waging battle amidst towering tidal waves. The environments change and respond in real-time to player commands, creating an entirely new experience each time it is played.

“Seamless world” and real-time action combat, exploration, and other actions all take place within the same environment, and shift between each game facet. Battles are carried out in real-time, bringing the fighting sequences of the STAR OCEAN series out of the traditional battle screen into a what appears to be a beautiful and lush environment.

RPG fans that have been gagging over this title can check out our previous posts for more screens and a trailer.

Infinite Undiscovery Trailer (HD)

Square Enix has released a new trailer for their upcoming RPG, Infinite Undiscovery. It probably has something to do with the September 2nd release date that was announced just yesterday. So far, just at a glance, the game looks like a much more epic, character-driven Final Fantasy XII. Not a lot of innovation there, but it could be a fun ride anyway.

infiniteundiscoveryscreen1 1 Infinite Undiscovery Release Date Announced

It’s been a long time since we heard anything new from Square Enix regarding their upcoming RPG, Infinite Undiscovery, but now it seems they’ve nailed down a release date for the game. It’s now set to hit the Xbox 360 on September 2nd. If you’ve played any Japanese RPG before, you can probably already guess the story. A young androgynous boy is said to have a strange destiny, which comes into play the day the world is beset by a mysterious evil, which he then sets off to fight. Yeah, I’m not really sure what sets this apart form other games of its ilk, but RPG fans have been drooling over this for awhile; so it looks like they won’t have to wait too much longer. The graphics do look pretty though.
