A few weeks back (June 23rd to be exact) I had the pleasure of taking a quick trip out to sunny San Jose, California to visit the offices of MMO Developer Cryptic Studios. While there I got an update on the studio’s plans and their upcoming release Champions Online. Through fortuitous events I was lucky enough to get interview time with the company’s Chief Creative Officer Jack Emmert.
Champions Online is Cryptic’s latest MMO. Once again the topic de jeur is Super Heroes but this time the platform is a bit different since the game is being developed for both the PC and Xbox 360 platforms and is adopting and expanding the world setting and characters originally developed for the popular and long-published Champions Pen-and-paper RPG.
Mr. Emmert was kind enough to agree to allow the interview to be recorded and I’ve turned the entire 12 minutes into the first Special Edition of the File-N-Forget Podcast.
The podcast interview can be downloaded here and found on the File-N-Forget podcast page along with the other 30+ weekly episodes.
For those who prefer their interviews typed you can read a transcript of the conversation after the jump.
Keep an eye out in the coming weeks as the embargo lifts and I can share the details of my Champions Online Gamer’s Day experience more completely.

GoNintendo has revealed a list on upcoming Nintendo games for 2008. Some of these have already been released, but if you look past those you will see many a title that has not. Granted, the majority of them have vague release dates and are for Europe, but at least you get an idea of what to expectThe good news though is that WiiWare and Super Smash Bros. Brawl have been dated for Europe. WiiWare – May 20th and SSBB June 27th.
You can get the full list of Nintendo titles headed our way (and ones that are already available) after the jump.

The Xbox 360’s backwards compatibility grew a bit larger today with the November 2007 BC update, which apparently required there to be as many old sports games included as possible. It’s hard to really pinpoint any big name games, because there really aren’t (m)any. Playboy the Mansion is noteworthy because, well, it’s Playboy the Mansion.
The total number of Xbox games that are backwards compatible on the 360 is now past 300. One has to wonder if Microsoft will continue to roll out these updates with Xbox Originals set to launch next month.
To download the update, simply pop in any of the included games and boot it up while connected to Xbox Live. You’ll be prompted to download the update automatically.
Are there any remaining Xbox games you want to see added to the back compat list? It’s hard to come up with much now that Playboy, The Guy Game and Rocky have been added, but I’d still like to see The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind included in a future update. (Editor’s Note: The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is already a backwards compatible title. It was added with the update back in July. Here’s the announcement.)
See the list of additions after the break.
