Our readers have been asking a little about the monsters of Godzilla: Unleashed since we last covered the topic. Currently, 23 monsters are confirmed for the game and 9 have in-depth profiles located on the Atari site. Every time I check out the site, the game seems to get more interesting. If any breaking news comes our way, I’ll be sure to post it here.

Atari Reveals The Monsters For Godzilla: Unleashed

godzilla Atari Reveals The Monsters For Godzilla: Unleashed
This just in from Atari:

“Atari, Inc announced today the meaning behind the mysterious countdown on the official Godzilla®: Unleashed web site. It was revealed today that there will be 23 monsters in the upcoming Wiiâ„¢ title, many of which are making their debut in a game for the first time. This is the largest number of playable monsters ever in the popular series and features two entirely new monsters created specifically for this title”.

I have been looking forward to this title, and excited we now have a little more information about it. The Wii lineup is still a bit soft in my opinion, but this title has the potential to make it a little harder. Godzilla: Unleashed is set to be released this fall on the Nintendo Wii and should sell nicely. The title is also being developed for Nintendo DS™ and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system. The Wii for now is basically casual gaming fun, but more titles like this may give a more serious edge to the system.

Head over to Atari to check out some of the new information just released shortly after midnight.

Atari Headed to NY Comic Con 2007

In Atari, Game Companies

Atari is heading to the 2007 NY Comic Con. In tow will be playable versions of Godzilla: Unleashed for the Wii, Bullet Witch for 360, and DBZ: Shin Budokai for PSP. Atari feels the trio of titles will lend themselves seamlessly into the sprit of the Con as they “share a common bond of Japanese art and influence, a bond that has been extremely prevalent in comics and other popular art forms.”
