GOG.com has added three new classic games to its line-up. First head to the races with FlatOut. This lesser known title has inspired several sequels and a PSP remake in the form of FlatOut: Head On.
Sometimes, I find some really interesting lots for sale on eBay. Doing a little searching today, I came across a lot of 400 video games for $3,199.99 + Shipping (US $250, Canada $400). That works out to about $8.62 per game if you have it shipped to the United States. Keep in mind that a majority of the games are for the PS2 and original Xbox. I’m not sure what a collection like this would cost you at a store like GameStop for example, but I think the price would actually be pretty close. I wouldn’t classify this as a great deal, but it would be sweet to have all these games in your collection. If the price were closer to say $2,000 for all 400, I’d consider buying it myself.
This week’s North American game release list is certainly nothing to write home to mom about. Of course, no one ever expects an exciting January in gaming. We’re still winding down from 2007, which was one of the best years ever for game releases. If you don’t get anything exciting out of this article, at least some of you lacking geography skills can check out the above map of North America. Check out the short list below:
PC:
Battlefield 2142 Deluxe Edition
Carrier Strike Force Add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator X and FS2004
FlatOut: Head On
The History Channel: Lost Worlds
Rail Simulator
Nintendo Wii:
CSI: Hard Evidence
Furu Furu Park
Kidz Sports: Ice Hockey
Nitrobike
Samurai Warriors: Katana
Everyone loves lists, and within this list is something everyone can love. Below you will find complied release dates for games coming out in October. The dates listed are as current as possible, so if a publisher changes the date we will try our best to update the list. We are well aware that September still has a couple of weeks left, give or take, but we just want to help plan your lives for the next month or two. Who loves you baby?
Originally released on the Marketplace for Europeans only back in July, the racing and derby demo of FlatOut Ultimate Carnage is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace for those residing the United States and Canada. The demo weighs in at just under 752 MB, and the game hit retail in the US on October 2. The game has met with a fairly positive critical reception in Europe, where the game has been available since June.
Is it the Xbox 360’s answer to MotorStorm? It’s not quite as good looking, but as far as depth goes, it wouldn’t be hard to surpass what MotorStorm has to offer. Give the demo a look and come back and let everyone know what you think.
FlatOut Ultimate Carnage Trailer 3
Here’s a new trailer for the upcoming game, Flatout: Ultimate Carnage. The video shows off some of the frenetic races and different game modes that will be available for play. The majority of the trailer is devoted to the crazy mini-games, most of which involve sending the driver of your vehicle flying through the windshield in a comical fashion. Though this game is already out on the PSP, the Xbox 360 version hits stores this winter.
The top three positions of the UK charts are holding with Forza 2 maintaining the lead at No.1 despite a 34% drop in sales. Tomb Raider: Anniversary holds onto No.2 with Pirates in at No.3.

Colin McRae DiRT makes its debut this week taking No.4, but trails Forza 2 with half the sales figures. The second highest debut this week is 2K Games’ Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer in at No.8. Look to see it move up the charts as movie hype shifts into overdrive.
Nintendo exclusives boast a continued presence in the top ten with Wii Play at No.5 , Brain Training at No.6, and Mario Strikers in at No.9. With the cross format games included they truly dominate the charts.
According to Pro-G, new titles to watch for next week are Armored Core 4, Metroid Prime Pinball, FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage, Kirby Mouse Attack, Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia, The Sims 2 Pets, and Shrek the Third.
The FlatOut series continues on the X-Box 360 in FlatOut Ultimate Carnage from Bugbear Entertainment. New features include 12 cars racing on screen (up from eight in FlatOut 2), five all-new single player and two all-new multiplayer game modes, as well as numerous graphics upgrades, along with mini-games over at Xbox Live. The game should hit shelves sometime this year, we will let you know when an exact release date is announced.
FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage Trailer
There’s a new video up for the next installment in the Flatout series, Flatout: Ultimate Carnage for the X-Box 360. I looks like the game will feature even more spectacular crashes, not to mention several mini-games involving airborn drivers. We’ll have to see if it can de-throne the reigning crash crazy racing series, Burnout. I just want to see these kind of crash physics used in other games, like GTA or maybe Mario Kart.
There’s a new teaser for the next installment in the Flatout series. This one’s titled Ultimate Carnage, and although the teaser is short, it looks like it will definitely live up to that title. It features the tagline, “This is not a street racer,” and brings back the flying, ragdoll driver bodies the series is known for, as well as the destruction of cars, environment, and anything else you can crash into. Check out this teaser, and keep an eye on FileFront for more on this one.
