Battlefront.com has now officially announced Combat Mission Shock Force:Marines, the first expansion to Combat Mission Shock Force. This is just the first of several planned expansions for the contemporary ground-warfare setting.

This, the first Module, adds a significant number of new formations, units, weapons, equipment and vehicles for both the US and Syrian sides, as well as brand new missions, maps and a campaign. General game engine improvements (such as tactical Artificial Intelligence improvements, tweaking cover values and so on) are included as well, although they are also available to all Shock Force customers. This ensures that everybody plays by the same rules and experiences the same basic gameplay.

The Marines Module includes:

  • New TO&E
    • Marines Infantry Battalion
    • Marines Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion (LAV)
    • Marines Tank Battalion
    • Marines Assault Amphibian Company (AAV)

The Marines Module is packed with a lot of cool stuff and it will be available soon. “Soon” means “when it’s ready” and “all” means to anybody with a Battlefront, Paradox Interactive (retail), and Gamersgate (online) version of CM:SF.

CMSF Marines will be available only from Battlefront.com and, like most Battlefront.com titles, will not be available in stores. The price will be $25.

tommysatan The Week in Demos and Patches: February 17 23

One of the biggest patches that hit this week was the new LotRO: Shadows of Angmar Book 12, but normally when you log into the game it is an automatic update. For those you who for some reason did not get the update, the European patch was sent to FileFront this week and you can get it by clicking on the link above. Otherwise there is not much else to report in the patches department other than Stranger, Unreal Tournament 3, Combat Mission Shockforce, and FIFA 08. You can get these patches and more by visiting this link.

As far as demos are concerned, we received Fashion Boutique, Spaceforce Captains, Avernum, Light of Dreams and a few others that you can see here.

Check back with us next week and hopefully we will have some more.
