Banner day for Take-Two and GTA IV fans. Lots of news so I will just state the facts.
All of this comes on the heals of Take-Two’s financial report which was released this morning, full of bragging rights. For example, Q3 revenues are up from $206.4 million to $433.8 million with net income for Q3 totaling at $51.8 million or $0.67 per share. If you pull up numbers for the same time last year, you will notice that they reported a net loss of $58.5 million or $0.81per share.
For the nine months ended July 31, 2008, net revenues were $1,214.1 million, compared to $689.2 million for the same period a year ago. Net income for the first nine months of fiscal 2008 was $112.1 million or $1.48 per share, compared to a loss of ($131.3) million or ($1.83) for the 2007 period.
No wonder they are not ready to hand the reins over to EA just yet.
For the full press release which includes a slew of boring numbers, hit the jump.

It has been one crazy week, and the craziest thing happening at home base while Jonathan and Shawn were in LA was the amount of assets we received in our inboxes on a daily basis. I have decided to post the lonely screens and trailers that did not get their very own post into one large post full of links. There’s just is not enough time to post them all, so this is the best way I know how.
While this is not a comprehensive list of what was not covered, it is close. There are more screens floating around out there that we have yet to get, but if or when we do, we will do our best to wow you with them.
Below you will find a list of games from A-N and a link to the trailer or screens for it. Be sure to look over the list carefully, because something you are interested in may be included. I have highlighted ones that may be of special interest.

Along with the good, but completely expected news that a sequel to BioShock is in the works, Take Two also noted one unfortunate change to their release schedule. The upcoming sci-fi FPS/RPG hybrid, Borderlands is now being delayed into their 2009 fiscal year. According to the company, this was done “in order to allow additional development time for this highly anticipated game and provide a better balance in the release of Take-Two’s triple-A titles.” Basically they’re saying that GTA IV is expected to drop with such a big shockwave that they don’t want too many other games out there competing with it. Yes, that’s right: GTA IV knocked Borderlands into next year.

Randy Pitchford is looking for a few good men, or women for that matter. Over on the Gearbox forums, he has posted a butterfly inducing announcement regarding the fact that he is hiring for a huge new project. Here is an excerpt:
“I’ve started a new project. It’s big. It’s, like, look-at-our-line-up-and-imagine-something-even-bigger kind of big. I’m Directing it myself. I can’t mention it publicly yet. When you find out what this is, you’ll likely agree that I can’t oversell this one………I’m looking for some talent from outside of Gearbox to join us for this one. Specifically, we need a super senior artist – lead artist or art director level. “
He also mentions the fact that he will be at DICE and GDC in Feb, so if you are indeed serious about applying for any of the job listings, email him and let him know you plan on going so he can meet with you personally.
Not only is this good news for people in the industry looking for a job, but for gamers as well because it just adds to the speculation of what this BIG project might be. We can pretty much expect that whatever this mystery project is, we will not get our grubby paws on it until close to 2010 because Brothers in Arms Hell’s Highway and Borderlands have yet to ship; plus they have the Aliens project still going on. However, if it is anything like other games they have touched, it is indeed something to get excited about.
