Funny, people still seem to be implying PS3 has no games. I use my PS3 for perhaps 5-10 hours a week, playing games and have no issues with the amount of games.

From what I recall when I had my 360 (before it failed) I had LESS games at 8 months in, than I do for my PS3 now.

The only reason games are brought up, is Xbots are running out of things to criticise about the PS3, it used to be lack of upscaling capabilities, and before that it was going to be the massive failure rate was the boxed demo units at TGS had failed..

It is great to hear the PS3s are reliable, and by most accounts they are well made. However I can’t help but take a cheap shot at Sony.

If half the PS3s are sitting in inventory (shipped vs. sold) and because of the lack of good games the other half are sitting around powered off… do we really know what the PS3 failure rate is?

Im so tired of people pointing fingers at the PS3 for not having good games out yet. Give them a break and have some patience, once they start rolling out the bit hits you’ll be blown away.

Wii is a great system for the general public, funs games and stuff. Don’t expect it to be hardcore gaming. But yeah, console doing really great and I applaud they’re success.

XBox360 has proven it’s ground, anyone doubting its gaming power is an idiot. Sure the hardware is going through some rough times but it’s been the king in the past. I really do think it’s time is coming and the PS3 is slowly going to reign over the hardcore gaming community.

It’s been gone over before, that the Wii simply cannot be compared to systems like the Xbox 360 and the PS3. The Wii was made especially for the gamers–the casual gamers even. As far as its capability as a higher-end system goes, it doesn’t compare (no hi-def support etc etc).

Don’t call me a Wii-basher, because I honestly love my Wii–for its games and its gameplay. I also love my PS3 for its media powerhouse-ness. I personally cannot even compare the two consoles, since they have such a huge difference, and were intended for two different purposes (Playstation 3 was not solely meant as a game machine, unlike the Wii).

That’s like saying “let’s compare the DS to a DVD player”. You can’t, because the two pieces of hardware were made with different uses in mind.

Although it probably won’t fix the rings of death or invent games for a PS3, you forget them both as you guffaw with a buddy and shoot another plunger at a crazy rabbid.

Nevermind the fact that the PS3 priced Sony out of the market and that has caused a decrease in developer support, I think this is good news because it shows that at least Sony learned something from the PS2 and that is to make sure the hardware is solid from the get go. The PS2 didn’t have many failings but early reliability was one of them. As for the guy getting strikers on wii, good luck with that. I can’t put my copy down, its like crack! One of the best online games i’ve played.

The Wii always saves the day by way of game (In my opinion, as far as gaming quality goes, Wii’s the best). I use my PS3 more as a media powerhouse ($600 for blu-ray, come on…) and Armored Core 4 (Robots with big guns in Hi-Def. End of story).

I’ve gone through two Xbox 360s so far, BOTH of which failed. So far I’ve spent more $$$ on getting my Xbox’s than my PS3… (I’ve spent a total around $800 for the two Xbox’s, first one, then the second one which was before the whole ‘oh now we support free repairs if you got the red ring of death’).

In my own opinion, I’m just waiting for the ports of the 360 games to come to PC–already have shadowrun, Lost Planet, etc etc. No doubt that Halo 3 will some day come to PC, and that Gears of War is already geared up to make its way to PC.

Hutch. The #1 most important thing about a games console isn’t games like some idiots think. Its reliability. Any games console that works is better than one that doesn’t.

One of those watches that plays Tetris is a better gaming machine than a 360 with the 3RROD.

We will never know the extent of the 3RROD problem but I doubt it was a 30% failure rate like some reported. Even if it were ‘only’ 10% however that means that according to Sony’s stats the 360 is 50 times more likely to fail.

@Hutch: I choose neither. My 360 is currently being fixed and I’ve got nothing to do with my PS3 besides stream videos from my PC.

I actually have Mario Strikers being sent to me via GameFly, so it looks like my Wii will actually save the day.
