Say Howdy to “The Duke”, 360.

In the world of Xbox 360 mods, this latest mod is literally classic. Ben Heckendorn (aka, Ben Heck - a mad/mod scientist of sorts) presents his latest Frankenstein creation: the original Xbox controller (also known as “The Duke”) with the 360’s wireless guts. Not only is Ben a mad scientist, he’s a comedian too:

“Believe it or not this mod is suggested to me every once in a while so I figured I might as well take a crack at it and see what happens. It’s not often you get to work on a controller so large it’s classified by NASA as a low-level Earth-orbit object. For this reason, during the modding, I was careful not to drop it as this would have created an impact crater sufficient to snuff out all life on Earth and the dinosaurs, whichever comes first. Aerosmith and Bruce Willis were standing by to save the day in case of mishaps.”

Ben rates the difficulty of this mod fairly high (comparable to the PS360 controller mod). Ben also provides a video via his site of “The Duke” in action, just in case you doubt his skills. Just don’t expect Ben to fabricate one for you (although I’m sure a nice bribe might improve your chances).

So if you’ve got an original Xbox controller, a 360 controller, gorilla hands, and a shot put fetish, this mod might be right up your alley.
