SamWhen you think of stores to go game shopping at, Sam’s Club doesn’t appear near the top of the list. Heck, in most cases it doesn’t even make the list. If you’re a fan of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, you may have to add them to your list.

According to the Wal-Mart blog, Sam’s Club is making a push with Super Smash Bros. Brawl to garner the attention of gamers. Not only are they offering online pre-orders of the much-anticipated Wii title, but those who preorder will have the game arrive on their doorstep on launch day. To sign up for the preorder, you simply text Sam’s Club, and they reply to you with instructions on how to set it up.

They also plan to have every US Sam’s Club store open at midnight on March 9th for the release of Super Smash Bros Brawl, and the game will be priced, “under $44.” They even state that every store will have a minimum of 20 units of Wii hardware that night as well.

There’s more here than just Smash Bros. In the same blog post, Sam’s announces that they have just acquired a lot of Rock Band bundles, enough for each store to have approximately 60 units on hand in the next week or so. More interesting is the fact that they plan to price the bundles under $150, or about $20 off the current retail average.

All in all, it might just be worth picking up a Sam’s Club membership just for these deals, and of course the possibility of similar deals in the future. Since a membership is only $40, you could recoup half that off that Rock Band Deal alone.

Sounds like it could be fun. The more people who play the more competetion. ManOfTeal must have little game to go with his little brain.

Good luck Sam’s – how are you going to get the pre-orders on people’s doorsteps when the game launches on a SUNDAY? Walmart/Sams might be everywhere, but I don’t think they own the post office, UPS, DHL, or Fed-Ex, so unless you’re going to pay all your employees gas money to deliver them, you’re just talk.
