Telltale Games might only be talking about Sam & Max Wii as the only other platform the hilarious point-and-click adventure series is coming to, but that doesn’t mean the interest in other platforms isn’t there. Telltale revealed in a recent interview that their tools currently allow them to develop on PC, Xbox 360 and Wii, and it was the demand for a Sam & Max Wii game that caused them go in that direction first. But don’t rule out Xbox Live Arcade — or a PlayStation platform — as a future home for the crime-fighting duo.

We’d still like to do [Sam & Max on XBLA]. Our tools currently allow us to develop for PC, Xbox 360, and Wii. So many people had been asking for Sam & Max to come to Wii that it seemed the obvious place to start, but we’re not ruling out other platforms in the future. We’re interested in PlayStation, also… we want our games to be everywhere!

With WiiWare now open, it seems like a prime place to bring Sam & Max. Telltale explained that WiiWare’s requirements wouldn’t allow the Sam & Max games onto the platform at their current size. And while that is what led to a retail version of Sam & Max on Wii, don’t rule out the possibility of a WiiWare appearance in the future.

It’s nice to see Telltale trying to spread the love as much as possible. I’d love to see Sam & Max come to XBLA and PSN, although getting a point-and-click adventure game to work on a controller seems like a significant challenge.
