Sam and Max Square Off Against Santa Claus in Season Two

Telltale Games and GameTap have revealed some of the details for the first episode of Sam and Max: Season Two, which will have the duo going up against that kingpin of the North Pole, Santa Claus. In the new episode, “Ice Station Santa,” the detective dog and his crazy bunny-like friend will travel to the Arctic to investigate a series of attacks coming from Christmas presents such as the “Torture-Me-Elmer” doll. The intrepid heroes will have to take down no-longer-very-jolly Santa Claus to end the chaos.

“Season One was a groundbreaking accomplishment, but it’s only the beginning,” says Telltale’s CEO Dan Connors. “For Season Two, we have taken all the best elements of the first season and improved on them even more. Telltale is cranking the whole episodic experience up another notch and you can expect a very enjoyable six months.”

Steve Purcell, creator of Sam and Max, also describes the Telltale group’s work on the series:

“The Telltale crew has been living with these characters for quite a while now and it shows in the work. First seasons are always the proving ground, so it’s great that they get the chance to take Sam & Max through a new season of ever more bizarre and hilarious episodes.”

“Ice Station Santa” is slated to premiere to GameTap subscribers on November 8th, after which it will become available for purchase and download from Telltale’s website on November 9th. After that, each new episode will follow a similar pattern and premiere on the second Thursday/Friday of each month, starting in January. The series will run through April, for a total of five episodes in Season Two.
