Sad News: No GTA IV Demo Coming

If you were hoping to get a sneak peek at Grand Theft Auto IV before it hits stores, don’t hold your breath. When asked about the possibility of a demo, a representative for Rockstar replied:
I’m sure there won’t be. If there was we would have talked about it. With a game like this the guys at Rockstar North will want to spend every minute making the game look great. Most people know the concept of GTA anyway. I don’t know that the demo is worth the time and effort.
Also much of GTA 4 is the driving around and we wouldn’t be able to give out the whole city. We would have to give away half the game for free. People would think Liberty City is a tiny city. You run into problems.
So there most likely won’t be a demo for the game. Not that they really need one to get the word out on this game. They could probably just scrawl the letters “GTA” on a blank disc and probably still sell a million copies.

Disappointing, but I’ll be picking it up day one nevertheless.
Rockstar Games doesn’t make demos so why in the hell were you expecting one…
Both Max Payne games had demos, and that’s just off the top of my head.
If there was one game that might cause me to buy a console, it would be GTA IV.
I figured there wouldn’t be a demo, with a game like this it would be hard to make one.
That’s not necessarily true, STALKER; look at Crackdown. It’s a similar premise, and they managed to do a demo.
But I think the reason is more similar to why there wasn’t a demo of Halo — they just don’t need to make one for the game to sell.
I agree with Chris, If you ever played the Saints Row demo, his point is even furthered. A demo for GTA4 is totally possible.
But truly I didn’t expect one, I mean they never made a demo for GTA3,Vice City or San Andreas.
Halo 3 did have a public though…
How do you compare a beta of game to a demo on multi-platforms?
GTA IV doesn’t need a demo. It’s as simple as that.
Stalker is right i bought a 360 for GTA 4

Uhm.. Yea…. But either of them was made by Rockstar -.-
They were both developed by Remedy Entertainment Ltd.
GOD… Learn the difference between publishers and developers!
