Koch Media’s game labels ASCARON and Deep Silver, have announced that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel will be heading to retail in the first quarter of 2009. Currently in development for these systems, Sacred 2 will be released for the PC on November 11.
The action-RPG has expanded on what made the first Sacred a pretty decent game, and one of the things I am looking forward too after having played the demo, is the the fact that the game has zero load times when going from one end of the explorable world to the other which is also expected to be carried over to the console versions. The storyline seems a bit typical of most RPGs set within a fantasy world but also appears to be quite in-depth along with with plenty of attention to graphical detail, the choice of six different characters, and the ability to play the light or dark side where your decisions affect the fate of the world. I also think it is pretty cool that, depending upon which character you choose, your mount can be anything from a horse with horns to a more special mount such as a tiger, hellhound, wind serpent or a vicious looking spider.
No specific details on whether any extras will be included with the console version that will not be present on the PC version have been announced; therefore, we can only expect it to be the exact same port at this time. Q1 2009 means that the game will be released sometime between January and March so check back with us often as a more concrete release date will made available in the near future.
