Sacred 2 is one of those games that has ardent fans and loud opponents. Its action-RPG gameplay is reminiscent of the great and venerated Diablo series but its just different enough that Diablo fans often rail against it. For my enjoyment I find the game a fun multiplayer diversion on the Pc and the only game that ever let me play as a cybernetic dog with a plasma cannon arm.. so its a winner with me.

The announcement that Sacred 2 was coming to the consoles was surprising but welcome. Now instead of cranking up my laptop I could look forward to sitting on the couch, projector fired up with the 360 wading through crowds of enemies while working to save the Blind Guardian concert from certain ruin. Sacred 2 for the 360 and PS3 is due to hit retail next week so CDV, the publisher, is cranking out the press and videos to build up excitement. The latest video highlights yet another reason to get “syked”: 4-player cooperative gameplay. I’ll say that again: 4-player co-op!

Matchmaking and multiplayer on the PC version was a mess at first, but I can easily see hopping into a console game with friends in my cyber-dog alter ego. You’ll find the co-op trailer to help build your excitement to Shawn-like levels after the jump. Oh and I’ve included the Blind Guardian video as well just to show how awesome they are.. nothing like progressive metal bands in a faux fantasy game I tell ya!
