Frogster has announced that over 100,000 characters were created in the first 24 hours during the start of Runes of Magic open beta. Due to the high number of players, Frogster has opened an additional game which will now spread the community over seven servers.
In the first few hours Frogster also noted a significant increase in registration numbers and out of the total number of 220,000 registrations, more than 20,000 Accounts were created on Monday alone and immediately entered the game world: more than 2 million quests were completed in over 200,000 hours of combined playing time in the game world of Taborea.

Outstanding! The Western market has been in dire need for a quality free-to-play title that just might change a few opinions about the genre. I was involved in the closed beta testing, and yes, the similarities to WoW are quite present, but there’s also a number of elements from other MMO that kinda make you think – ooo…THAT would be nice to have in WoW. Congrats to Frogster and Co. – it’s been a long time coming!
