Xbox Live Acting Up Again

Thought the problems with Xbox Live were over? You thought wrong! Reports are coming in from all over the place that the exact same problems reported last week are back. The following message has just popped up on the official Xbox.com website.

Users may experience issues performing transactions dependent on Windows Live ID availability including but not limited to Xbox 360 account creation, renewal, recovery, and logging into or creating Windows Live ID accounts. We are aware of the issue and actively working toward a resolution. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Apparently, the issues with Xbox Live are not a thing of the past. A majority of the problem exists with trying to purchase content on the marketplace. I was psyched about downloading the latest STP song for Rock Band earlier, and my account is showing that I have 0 MS Points, when I had over a thousand MS points yesterday and haven’t bought anything since, so my points should still be there. Other gamers I have spoken with are reporting that their points are there, but they can’t complete transactions. I’m in the same group as many other gamers and am not a happy camper with the current situation on XBL.

Many gamers are also reporting that they are unable to connect to specific multi-player games such as Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4. Hopefully, Microsoft resolves these issues with a quickness.

  1. Would you expect more from Microsoft ? They allways launch buggy products and fix them on the way … But this problem really sucks .

    i think that this is a load of bullcrap cuz i didnt spend over $600 for some glitches in the system. i waited all day yesterday to come home and play some COD4 online only to be met by….nothing :evil:

    Missing MS points. Lost achievements. Broken matching. This is turning into a nightmare. This is what I would expect to happen to a free service from time to time, not a paid premium service. WTH are they doing over there? Its only made worse by the fact that the 2 competing free services are running smoothly.

    Heh, went online perfectly last night with loads of other (English) people. Perhaps it’s a lot more of a regional thing?

    used cisco – People aren’t losing achievements, despite what people are claiming.

    @chris,

    This guy did, and I’ve read about others as well. Stories sound legit enough.

  11. DrunkenCrowbar says:

    The problems are, according to MS, caused by the very large increase in users that happened during Christmas. Luckily it haven’t caused me many problems :) . Besides, i’ve heard that they are giving away a free XBLA game because of the problems this is causing the users of XBL

  12. William says:

    I was skeptical about the rumors of people losing achievements until I logged in yesterday to find my MS points missing. There’s obviously a widespread problem happening. I also don’t buy the increase of users over Christmas. The increase of users was an expected event. If they didn’t prepare, they obviously just ignored warning signs.

    microsoft sucks make something that isn’t swollen with problems you fucking pricks

    I truly feel for you guys but understand when you’re dealing with technology that is created by Men & Women and not the other way around these thing are going to happen just like when there’s a blackout phone line going dead. lose of cable signal. etc. I had no problem since they fix it the first time but smart enough to know that it could and more likely will happen again just wait it it out and stop acting like a bunch of spoiled BRATS
    and learn something about technology I have over 20Yrs of experience in the field.
