RUMOR: Wii Blu-ray Console Spotted in Dark Alley in Tokyo

How do rumors get started, they’re started by the jealous people and they get mad seeing something they had and somebody else is holding….
Ok, most of our readers were either infants or not even born when that wonderful song from Timex Social Club came out in the eighties, but it is so true. This week, the big rumor was that Wii was going Blu-ray and some sites picked up on this even though it was posted on the Unconfirmedsources website.
Today, this bit of “news” surfaced on the net and it stated that a Wii Blu-ray player was spotted in an electronics section of Tokyo. The site even went so far as to claim:
“Nintendo’s CEO Satoru Iwata stated in a February press release that “Nintendo is reviewing the Blu-ray technology and considering how it could enhance the Wii gaming experience.” While the official word is wait and see rumors combined with the appearance of the console found in Akihabra has Wii watchers buzzing.”
Ok, seriously, why are actual gaming sites that are suppose to be legitimate running with this story? Seriously, how can they take any source as a fact when the site also posts stories about President Bush being upset because Jessica Simpson dissed him or that John McCain wants Dick Cheney to be his VP should he win the race for the White House? Or better yet, Sarcastic Gamer’s headline: Take Two Merges with Namco Bandai: GTAIV Canceled?
Unconfirmedsources is a funny site to be sure and so is Sarcastic Gamer – which had its own Wii Blu-ray story taken seriously back in July 2007, but when you start taking satire seriously it is just sad.
Thanks for the Larf: Uncondfirmedsources, and Sarcastic Gamer

how exactly would blu ray “enhance” the Wii at all?
Zack. Expensiver isn’t a word. Also, Blue-ray wii = 10,000 fully 3d mini games on 1 disk.
Dadud. Blue-ray doesn’t exist. It’s Blu-ray. But yes, the Wii would greatly benefit from Blu-Ray technology, and would allow Nintendo to release a ‘premium’ version of the console with a Blu-ray drive in it, allowing them to target a audience that has, to the best of my knowledge, stayed out of the Wii’s reach: home theater enthusiasts. It would also help them combat the Playstation 3’s growing momentum, offering a cheaper Blu-ray player.
Blu-ray would enhance the Wii by having even more party games on one disc.
Okay, yeah im a Wii owner blah blah blah,
I’m more interested in the fact that you used Rumors as the lead off…. YOU GO GIRL!!! That song was the JAM then and it still is. Now a question, did you ever hear the parody called “Roaches” by Bobby Jimmy?
OMG Robert! I forgot all about that one. Look at all these roaches around me everyday… lol. Thanks for making me feel old and all warm and fuzzy at the same time!
Wow every one loves Blu-ray as well they should since is the future of everything HD games music and movies only Sony can achieve greatness in all those areas. PLAYSTATION 3 just keeps looking better every single day PS3 is the only next gen gaming system. Wii is useless in technology is crap Xbox is the worst gaming console is not reliable doesn’t offer a lot of game genre only FPS and Microsoft can’t make game them self they gotta paid or Sony will vanish them.
GamingToday is a ripoff for news they got this here is fake satire http://www.unconfirmedsources.com/index.php?itemid=3116
Ivan, did you not read the bloody post?
The entire post was about other sites taking Unconfirmedsources seriously and reporting it as legitimate news yesterday. I saw it on three different news sites before they became wise of their folly and took it down.
Stephany,
Will you have my baby?
Oh wait, nevermind, I like cock, I forgot.
