Rumor Squashed: No Final Fantasy VII Remake in the Works

Bad news Cloud Strife fans; looks like Square-Enix really isn’t planning on remaking Final Fantasy VII anytime soon. A Japanese gaming publication, Dorimaga, sat down with Tetsuya Nomura, a designer for Square-Enix, where he addressed the rumors:
“It appears that there are often overseas rumors like ‘Are you currently developing a VII remake?’ My apologies, but we’re absolutely not making [such a game].”
But don’t lose hope completely, true believers, Nomura didn’t totally rule it out:
“We of course know ourselves what the fans want so we’d like to continue thinking up a variety of things. As long as there are people who want to make it and people who are waiting for it, we don’t want to proclaim ‘the end.’”
So it’s not outside the realm of possibility, but it’s definitely not coming anytime soon.

fuck sony they are just a bunch of pussies. cant come up with a stable consol and are too pussy to remake the game. just throw in more plot to suck people into buyin it. ff7, advent children, crisis core, and that stupid ass pointless ps2 ff7 vincent crap. cmon sony stop bein such penny pinchers as microsoft and make a game for the people. not your pocket. and maybe people like me who hate fuckers like you will buy your precious lil product to enjoy my favourite game.

what did the game crisis core ff7 had at the end -to be continued in final fantasy vii/ff7 so that would mean they will be making it or its coming out some time in the next few mounts or longer

Final Fantasy VII is gold mine! The rarity of the original game is enough for these bastards to at least re-release it PS3… Who here wouldn’t spend a new $50.00 to get a fresh new copy?
As for a re-release. Everyone has obviously played right into the hands of Square-Enix, with such lengthy debates. This topic has to be the most discussed and one-sided argument in gaming history. Seeing as how they are big on the whole prequel/sequel/side game concept, I could only assume that after final fantasy 13, they would make final fantasy 7-2. This would fit into their number scheme seeing as how 7×2=14 (the next number in the series) and comes off as intentional, intelligent marketing, rather than just this large company (who has us all by the balls, iron fisted) bending to the whim of its consumers.
hell, half of us who played and loved the original are getting too old to justify spending hours on a gaming console, let alone buying one that is over 600.00 when we have actual responsibilities now… SQUARE-ENIX, GIVE US A REASON TO BUY THIS GROSSLY OVER PRICED PIECE OF MACHINERY AND RESTORE OUR FAITH IN THE ARTISTRY OF GAMING.
ps- the chocobo races were the shit, and sephiroth is the best villain in recent history- PERIOD
o yeah… And they better keep the damn original summons and should probably add a playing option that allows you to chose between 3 fighting styles:
1. Original (like ff7)
2. Revamped (like the later games)
3. and interactive (with 1 on 1 fighting game, marvel/capcom style controls… that shit would be unprecedented. Imagine learning a 25-key press combination for omni slash!
A separate “sephiroth quest” would also be raw (exploring more on what the hell he was doing the whole game)… As a kid, I never felt more powerful then the few moments we were allowed to play as Sephiroth in the original. ILL!!!!!

You all are probably a bunch of 13-year olds that have never even beaten FFVII and such balls at every FF. And FYI FFVII was no where near as good as FFVI. Gaming hasn’t been artistic since the SNES its all formula for you damn weabos.
FF7 realy needs to be remade i mean cmon just think of the money they would make!!! i am the biggest final fantasy fan ever ive got every single 1 and completed them all over 10 times its just a great game. i cant wait for ff13 but an ff7 remake would be the top of my list without a doubt. i already own a ps3 an its great but this would make my day and put the ps3 right at the top. and btw i cant believe there letting ff13 come out on the xbox 360! thats just wrong!!!!!

k seriously this remake would be big money… look people buy ps3 then the game thats a lot of money… and side quests like bringing zack back or ~ finding him some where ~

and leave the system the same but move ability during battle. any way square is basicly pushing money away every time they say no remake thats stupid and they would get even more money if they sale it world wide but im not waiting for the game if its going to be over 4 years
