Rumor Squashed: Gears of War NOT Coming to the PS3

Epic’s Mark Rein recently got upset over the rumors that Gears of War might be ported to the PS3, calling it BS. In fact, he says, the developer is very happy with Microsoft:
“This story is complete bull****. I emailed the site and asked them to take it down. We’re very happy with our relationship with Microsoft. If it weren’t for them Gears wouldn’t be the huge hit it has become.”
Sorry, Playstation. Score one for Microsoft. Frankly though, I can see why they’d want to stand behind Microsoft. Gears of War pretty much of the biggest reasons to own an X-Box, next to Halo 3, and Microsoft deserves some credit for hyping it up so Epic could deliver the goods.
I dont think it matter the game is old anyways if they were to start it. It would take forever for it to come out. And with games like Haze and Killzone coming it would just be an old news game anyway.
who cares, let it stay a 360 exclusive, ps3 owners shouldnt be so greedy, they have Uncharted, God of War, MGS4, Killzone, Resistance, Little Big Planet, MAG, Last Gaurdian, Final Fantasy (excluding 13) and so on…..
i dont even like gears of war. Had it and played it for like a day. Microsoft has a habit of over hyping games. Expecially the halo series which is definitly not the best fps, which alot of people say
It would completely suck on the PS3 so dont even bother, we dont want it. PS3 has killzone, haze, resistance, metal gear, and a ton of other games, the 360 has gears of war and halo, That is why its so good because it has no competition. I dont see why you get so mad over a rumor.
I once heard of a guy who purchased a PS3! I dont know his name but I think he lives a few blocks from me. I should let him know that some games have been released for that console because everyone thinks PS3 has gone end of life already. Good to hear that at least one guys playing it!
nobody should hate on Gears Of War im personally a GAMER FANBOY not a Console Fanboy… but all these PS3 fanboys talkin about Gears of War suxz are total fools… THEY’D JUMP HEAD OVER HEALS TO PURCHASE GEARS FOR PS3.. they could lie all they want and say they wouldnt but the fact is THEY WOULD!!! resistance is okay but not as good as GEARS.. now KILLZONE will be AWESOME.. as well as HAZE.. and defin METAL GEAR will be AWESOME.. but to compare Gears to Resistance.. is a no competition GEARS TAKES IT ALL HOME!!! so quit Hatin’ on a DAMN GOOD GAME!!!
Gear of war have good graphic, But the game is too short. I think one of the reason is that they don’t have enough space on a DVD. In the future the game with good graphic will become bigger and bigger. A single DVD is definitely not enough for a big epic game. Microsoft limit the developer to develop better game by selling Xbox without hard drive and HD-DVD. They can make more money by doing that, because their production cost is reduced. I am not a Sony fanboy but I think doesn’t matter Blu-ray win the format war or not, a bigger disc capacity is necessary for next gen gamming console. I will buy a wii for gameplay and some casual fun, and get a PS3 for eye pleasing graphical games. Microsoft know the trick of monopoly, if they did we will pay more for less. Yes their basic console is cheap but do you find that you spend more to buy an external hard disk which is twice the price as a same size notebook hard disk? yes they even charge you for the rechargeable battery which is not included in a wireless controller and don’t forget to purchase a cable to charge your controller. They are all $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. They don’t care about gamers all they care about is dollars$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Shame for them.

God of Raiden, there will be Gears Of War 3 after 2nd part of Gears. Trilogy. PS3 don’t stand a chance. Blue-ray will not help them.
Ps3 is soo much better because it has much better graphics and they dont break down like 360s do. Just wait untill some newer games come out that werent rushed to get out for the ps3 launch they will be amazing. 360s graphics and games can only go to a certain point because they dont have amaziing blue ray like ps3 which can make better games. Also halo 3 is over rated and wont even be that good it will be exactly the same as the last to fighting the same aliens over and over but every one will buy it anyway just because they have the other 2 and because microsoft has over hyped it. Also ps3 can play all ps2 games while the 360 can only play some xbox games. Gears of war is a good game but i am not that upset it isnt coming to ps3 and i dont say this because i like sony i could care less about the company i just like the better system.
Right, Gears is a great game, I have a 360 only, but when people say “PS3 is betta den Xbox 360 cos we hav blu-ray and u dont l33t nubz lolz grr”, I think its stupid, People need to remember that the 360 came out roughly 2 years before the PS3 did, so that means they are going to be two years behind in technology, I agree Micro$oft need to put they’re attention on their customers rather than their wallets, but thats not what I’m saying, Just accept, both of the consoles have their ups and downs.
It wont matter much after MGS4 and FF and GT 5 and God of War3. Or will that be the reason. Its still up for grabs. Because that team is bent on money. And world wide money will be flowing like a wild river for 08 and the PS3. So dont be surprised just yet. Micro can only send so many blank checks for so long. Plus the hardware advantage of the PS3 is huge “not yet shown.” If the flip happens that many analyst see. Which is the old hardware fading, and the new one maxing by 2010 “or getting at least 70% or so.” Are they gonna want to make Gears on a system everyone is sorta leaving in the closet “ala Gamecube last gen like” by than? So will see? Some of the analyst are starting to study away from their 101 calss’s and numbers, and more so with their brains. And their learning how the tech world works now, and how the fast paced and quickly it moves on to the next thing. Changed make 05 old vary quick. Especially 05 hardware.
GoW has Killzone by the ballzorz. Anyone that disagrees is in for disappointment–well maybe not since PS3 fans are getting used to that.
Guys Halo3 is one of the best games that I have bought but still have to play because I am ploughing through Quake4 after compleating Call Of Duty2, anyway my Xbox360 didn’t overheat even I had it on for over 14hours so maby they assembled it correctly and balls-it-up like someone else said.

PS3 will always be better than 360 besides PS3 has a awesome line up of games. But i still think GOW will looked better in PS3

pfft Gears of war….. the only reason fanboys play this game is because they think they are so cool shooting heads, they think theyre so cool killing creatures of the unknown, they think that when they play the game they feel they are part of the game… pathetic…. just my opinion, so fanboys shut up.

have any of you actually played it? ok, it isnt perfect, but what game is.
what makes it great is that it is diffrent and does it well. a lot of games dont be diffrent and it is often mediocre and forgotten easily
and i can say all this console bashing is worth the time of day. as far as im concerned, theyre both good consoles both with good merits to them.
