Rumor: Sony Has More Than 20 Secret PS3 Projects In Development

I really hate rumors, because they’re just so hard to verify sometimes. A rumor stating that Sony has over 20 secret PS3 projects in development at least deserves a little attention. A source known to Team ICO claims that Sony’s internal studios have some secret projects in store for us. Supposedly, there are over 20 projects that have not been revealed to the public yet. According to their source, some of the companies involved included Project Siren and Team Saru.
There’s really no way for me to verify this rumor at this time, but it’s certainly interesting. Sony already has a great list of exclusive titles coming out in 2008, so any extra secret plans couldn’t hurt. I have felt a slight disturbance in the force lately, so this could definitely have something to do with that. Check out the via link for more information on the discussion.
As a side note, I still firmly believe that Sony and Square-Enix will be working on a Final Fantasy VII remake, if they aren’t already secretly working on one.

Of course they’d say this, their console’s failing in the market. It’s just a ploy to get people hyped up – unless they have anything to show for these secret projects, I’d stop waiting and do something else.

So why the circus over keeping these games secret up until now? It just sounds like a ploy they’ve kept in reserve.
Of coarse they have secret projects. Sony has started 2008 with a huge bang, bluray has won the format war, hddvd is dead, PS3 is outselling the xbox360 every week and there are tons of major hitters arriving on the PS3.
Sony has more exclusives than either of their competitors, do some research fanboys..Sonys exclusive portfolio destroys both of it’s competitors. Pathetic little xbox fanboys have notihing to look forward to for two generations..meanwhile Sony fans have everything lol.
2008 is shaping up to be a major comeback year for Sony and it’s PlayStation3.
some people are so blind. even if the HD-DVD is dead, Xbox 360 has alot of great games for it, and Xbox live is what makes it all worth it. PSN makes me laugh.
I love these arguments, they accomplish nothing except to so how completely anal some people are about a product that will be obsolete in five years…it would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.

You’re arguing about a platform do you really need somebody to point out how completely stupid that is?
No, because I know. My concern isn’t with platforms (each of the consoles has faults which I’ll gladly point out), it’s with gaming in general. Apologies if it sounded like I’m a fanboy, but I just feel there’s something fundamentally wrong with this style of marketing: announcing something with nothing to show but a single figure and no official confirmations.
@ Fadeaway, first of all, Sony did not announce this, they are rumours, and thats the problem with you fanboys, you take rumours as truth and think they came straight from the mouth of sony, you are all stupid, all companies have secret projects, case closed.

I only posted that because I was under the impression from friends that the PS3 was doing badly. From a statistical viewpoint – the price, not the power of the PS3 – I didn’t see a valid reason to challenge what seemed reasonable.
Of course, there’s also the statistic of rabid PS3 fanboys I forgot to consider too. There’s more of them and in greater blind, ignorant zeal than any other gaming platform.

If there’s so many blind, ingorant fanboys out there, howcome there’s more negativity in general (on the net) about the PS3? I think the negativity is unwarranted and it slowly turning around. Sony has taken an unfair beating over the past few years. I don’t believe half the things about them (or the PS3) are true. Yes, they’ve made mistakes, but they’ve also made some brilliant decisions — BluRay being one of them. No, I don’t think they’re arrogant either. It’s not arrogant to talk up your own products and much of their statements are forward looking (every company does this). As someone said above, EVERY company has secrets. When they’re ready, I’m sure they’ll share them with us.

The bottom line gentleman is that this type of back and forth ‘argument’ only makes what some people say about gamers more and more valid.
Whatever your opinion may be about a system is fine, but it’s hardly a reason to get worked up over it or to actively search out people who have opposing viewpoints and proceed to argue with them until it becomes a series of flame wars that accomplish nothing except to make one look more and more foolish.
This dance that developers/publishers have had with the gaming public has been going on for years and no amount of arguing over the interweb will change it, gamers could change it if they so chose but it would mean that they would have to work together towards a common goal….and since some would much rather complain about how poorly the PS3 is doing or how great the WII is or making up imaginary figures to support a product, the chances of that actually happening is slim to none.
PLAYSTATION 3 just keeps getting better and better and Xbox 360 worst and more worst. We PS3 owner have a massive huge exclusive list Xbox owner have nothing. HD DVD is dead so is Xbox lol PS3 is the greatest super high tech computer gaming console ever made by man.
