Rumor: Serenity’s Nathan Fillion Appearing in Halo 3

I’m still keeping this one filed under “Rumor,” although it seems to have practically been confirmed: Nathan Fillion has lent his voice talent to the upcoming Halo 3. Sci-fi fans should know him as Captain Mal from the canceled-way-too-soon TV show, Firefly, and the movie based off it, Serenity. Non-sci-fi fans may know him from his most recent movie, Waitress, or as the “first Private Ryan” in Saving Private Ryan. Apparently the rumor first started when people began to recognize his voice from a gameplay video. Now though, according to a mod on the Bungie forums, it seems that the game should have “quite a few surprises in store for Firefly fans.” That sounds pretty much like a confirmation to me. And pretty much everything I’ve seen Nathan Fillion in, he’s been awesome, even if maybe the rest of the movie wasn’t (*cough* Slither *cough*). Granted, he’s only playing a random Marine, but still, that’s pretty cool.

He also did a voice in Jade Empire by Bioware
Yay for Cap’n Mal! H3 just keeps getting better and better. Woo. All they need is a psychotic teenage girl who cuts up more Covenant than Sgt. Johnson without an energy sword and it’ll be complete
