Word on the interweb is Ubisoft’s next Prince of Persia game will be a prequel to the existing game series and the first in a new trilogy.
According to Blog Surfer Girl Reviews the game is subtitled Ghosts of the Past. The site also has what it claims are two screenshots from a very early build. If the information is correct, PoP4 is in development for the PS3,Wii,Xbox 360 and PC and is scheduled for a release in late 2008.
A younger prince is featured in this game working with an unidentified female. The game will shed the dark gritty overtones of the two latest titles for a more fantastical feel The Blog describes it as a “cross between The Sands of Time, Ico and Zelda”.
An anonymous source claims that they worked on PoP4, and that the screens are very similar to the style of eh game. They also say that work on PoP4 did start over a year ago.
I’m not sure how much credence to give to this report but it’s entirely possible this is the real deal. We’ll just have to await confirmation from Ubisoft.

I wonder if we’ll play as or see a young King Sharaman? Moreover, who’ll be narrating?
as long as its better than the third one.. that game sucked
Agreed. Two Thrones failed to capture the magic and innovation of the first one.
WARRIOR WITHIN RULESSSSS….
Hey, while the third game was not as insightful and imaginative as the first one, it continued the war-torn grit of the second and in it’s own right was a fun adventure! It’s like saying Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom sucked! It was the weakest of the three but as a movie it was still damn good!
The third Prince of Persia game, though perhaps the weakest of the three, was NOT in ANY way, a game that sucked, and it’s ignorant to say so.
dude POP for life part 3 was my fave my beat it at least 6times on normal and hard still fun. gotta say not a big fan of dark prince tho. however his humor was intriging lol
