Sony wants to move on.. and release big games digitally for you to buy again. It supports their current business model to abandon the BC program and focus on digital delivery of older games... its also a value proposition for them as the development money has already been made on those old titles and they can make a lot of profit with little work to convert and test them. Unfortunately I'm beginning to see the point of view that Disk based media is a dying form.. with digital delivery becoming the more prevalent and convenient in many cases delivery method. So maybe Blu-Ray is not as big an issue going forward.
