RUMOR: LucasArts Has Laid-off Between 75 and 100 Employees

According to reports, LucasArts has permanently laid-off up between 75 – 100 members of its internal staff and senior executives. Vice president of product development, Peter Hirschmann, was included in this mass axing according to a report on Kotaku.
This mass firing includes positions in arts and programming with staff from production services at LucasArts being outsourced to overseas positions.Some of the disgruntled staff members have supposedly let the cat out of the bag and went so far as to inform the public that even the producer of LEGO Indiana Jones and LEGO Star Wars, Shawn Storc, was also given the boot.
Seems like everyone is outsourcing jobs overseas and soon you will have to move out of the country to get a job unless you want to work a menial job that pays much less than you need. Maybe, but hopefully not.
No official comment has been given by LucasArts at this time, so take this as a rumor from a pissed off employee until we can find out for sure.

If this is true, I wonder who Lucas Arts thinks will be buying their $60 games when their ex-employees are struggling to feed their families? It sure won’t be the Russian/Chinese/Indian employees that are getting paid $2 a day.
they only need to lay off one guy, george lucas. he’s totally ruining his own living legacy with his corporate whoring of the star wars line. what original ground breaking games has lucasarts given us? SW = star wars.

did i miss any? talk about variation on a theme, here america have more star wars, have the same game with a new skin and the same tedium for only 55 bucks a pop retail, buy more! george lucas is sleeping like a baby at night.
