Rumor: Female Characters Aren’t as Powerful as Males in Age of Conan

There’s a rumor among the Age of Conan community that seems to be getting stronger by the minute. It has to do with the balance of the game, or more specifically, the balance of the characters’ genders. It all apparently began with a review from YouGamers, where the author noted one strange occurrence:
… Age of Conan’s weapon swing time depends on the duration of the visual swing animation, and female characters swing their weapons about 25% slower than males – so every female melee character does 25% less damage over time!
You can probably guess how the game’s community is taking this. Funcom’s forums are now littered with comments both affirming and denying that this is the case, along with possible fixes, and of course several people making sexist remarks (what internet community would be complete without that). For now though, Funcom has only said this:
There should of course be no difference between a male and a female character of the same class (other than the looks). But we have gathered the feedback about this and are looking into it.
So gamers can rest assured that at least this wasn’t intentional. The consensus from the players though seems to be that this problems exists. Hopefully Funcom will provide more information on whether a possible fix is on the way soon.

Well technically women aren’t as capable in combat. Of course they knew that there was a delay though… give me a break. I can imagine all the fat chicks getting upset. They should make women more evil and cunning to make up for it. That always bothered me in games though. In Fallout if I made a chick she would have the same brawny meat-headed characteristics as my retarded barbarian hulk men. That is if I made her a warrior anyways.
Men should be little stronger and women little more agile/faster.
I agree with the above.
Definitely a bug / unintentional. One of the attack directions is at normal speed and the rest are slower.
