Rumor: Europe to See an Xbox 360 Price Drop Next Week

Multiple UK retailers have purportedly confirmed to TechRadar that Europe will see a price cut on every Xbox 360 SKU beginning March 14. The price drop will be €50 (or £38.26), although no retailer has yet to go on record as confirming that number. Microsoft, of course, has issued the obligatory “no comment” when contacted by the site.
If these figures turn out to be true, it would make the lowest end Xbox 360 system cheaper than the Wii – which would be a major victory for Microsoft, whose goal has been to get the 360’s price into the mainstream range. This would certainly be another leap towards achieving that goal.
It makes sense to drop the price before the release of Grand Theft Auto IV in a region where the Xbox 360 is at a clear disadvantage compared with both the Wii and PlayStation 3. Gamers who were on the fence as to which console to buy when they grab GTA IV might just be lured into Microsoft’s court with a significantly lower price than the PS3.
Don’t expect anything similar in the United States, though. While this remains a rumor for even Europe, the 360 isn’t in dire need of a price drop like it is pretty much everywhere else in the world.

This sounds good as i’m yet to get my dad an xbox 360 for his birthday
