snake’s voice has to be from hayter in the movie. If it changes into an unaudible voice like the batman, that is not snake at all. However, david hayter isn’t much of an actor. i would nominate hugh jackman to play snake, and christian bale second. (Bale looks nothing like snake, he needs a beard and longer hair) and he just shaved it for the terminator.

Josh Holloway would be best for the part. He looks and sounds just like snake.. alot more than christian bale, definately more than hugh jackman and eric bana, i mean.. come on.

Hugh Jackman fits the part best I agree.Eric dane looks the part too.Tall something van damn and bale are not.They both look like him and could easily pull off snake,jackman and dane that is.But if bale gets the part well I will give him the benefit of my doubt and give him a chance.He can do it.Just pray that the game that most of us have benn following since 1987!Please be a great movie.

THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN DO SNAKE IS DAVID HAYTER!!! NO ONE ELSE CAN DO SNAKE, SIMPLY BECAUSE OF HIS VOICE. IT JUST SIMPLY WOULD NOT BE METAL GEAR SOLID WITHOUT HAYTER, AND IT WOULD BE AN ABSOLOUTE LET DOWN IF HE WAS NOT CHOSEN AS SNAKE. I KNOW HAYTER DOESN’T REALLY LOOK LIKE SNAKE, AND ISN’T A GOOD ACTOR, BUT HEY, A LITTLE MAKE-UP AND BEARD GROWING WILL MAKE HIM PERFECT, AND THE ONLY REASON SO MANY FANS WANT HAYTER TO DO IT IS ONLY BECAUSE OF THE VOICE. he looks hectic in a mullet.

christian bale sould be solid snake because the movies i have almost seen….like take batman beginnning the deep voice under the mask and eqilibrium fighting skills and maybe grow some little bit hair on his chin mustache combine all that as the actor playing as the real solid snake. solid snake has the body like christian bale skinny tight rip muscles just like american pchyo

Van Damme or David Hayter 2 i think would be good since he made the voice and he know the caracter very well with all the thing they can do today i think they can make him look like solid snake, i believe he has something in him that we can transform into Solid snake ..

No way christian bale is far from looking like solid snake they have nothing in common what a stupid idea, not because hes a good actor that he has all the physical requirement to play in every movie .. u will see, he will make bad movie to… Van damme should play solid snake. Snake body build was based on Van Damme Body building and he know how to fight and make good action movies like this one.. with his hair long like in the time cop and a bandana with sneaking suit i think he could be great…
