Rumor: Assassin's Creed 2 Confirmed Through a Survey?

I’m labeling this a rumor because it hasn’t been announced yet, but anyone who played Assassin’s Creed to its anti-climactic finish could probably guess that Ubisoft was already looking at a sequel (or two, as other rumors have it). But people who took a random opinion survey may have received confirmation of a sequel. The survey asked people questions concerning what they liked about the first game and what features they might like to see in next game. At the end of the survey, they were then informed that their opinions would be used in designing “the next Assassin’s Creed.” Hopefully they really take these opinions seriously, since the last game had kind of mixed reviews.
While we’re on the subject though, I liked the first game, but it had quite a few major flaws; particularly the repetitiveness and the complete lack of an ending…um, and the long-winded death sequences…and the fact that no matter how stealthy you were with the main kills, they’d still sound an alarm. Did I miss anything?

I have to say Halo(in general) sucks as do most mainstream hyped games(like final fantasy 12) but Assassins creed is just pure awesome.

I'm playing the game right now, and I have to say, I love it! Is it a bit redundant? Yes. But it's beautifully rendered, and the plot is excellent. As for the trilogy… they could just follow the crusades' time lines, considering that there were several. All this talk of a ninja sequel makes my head hurt. For any of you who've played SOCOM (which Ubisoft also makes), the game play in that was fantastic! You had stealth kills, intrigue and times where you just had to ice someone in public. Also, the ability to drag and hide a body would be nice, and would prevent guards from always being so trigger happy. AC is a great game, all it needs are a few minor tweaks to make it even better! I really think the incorporation of some of these SOCOM abilities would go a long way towards making the game more enjoyable. **A final thought: Several European countries were involved in the crusades. Why not have the ability to travel BACK to England, France or Spain to do some missions and gather information?!**

AC2? It only makes sense!
I found the 1st AC, to be very interesting. The storyline and the gameplay was awesome!
The ending (if that was what was originally planned), well, you had to really think about it; but that's what happens in real life, to a psychotic killer you gets caught alive, in a place where there is no death penalty, -> they are just put in a room and left to die. But with the all glitches, I also took it, as maybe that was also was a dream sequence?
But now I find out, there will be a sequel!!

If you read the e-mails in the computer in the next room after you beat the game, you see that the templars had somehting to do with the Philidalphia project, were the aircraft carrier dissapeared and reapered, but was spotted somewere 100's of miles away…yada yada…apparently it really happened in real life…not in the game-look it up. Philidalphia Project. Anyway, is also says that abstergo has the power to go through time, but the executives said they didn't want to becasue of a paradox possibility.
So the future isn't out of the question.

The next game is obviously going to be in the present. Desmond attains the assassin's sight! Anyone who explored at the end of the game knows about the clues for the other artifacts. I think 2 will def be in the present, trying to find the locations of the other artifacts and the conspiracy of the Templar, and 3 wrapping up the origin of the artifacts and what they mean to mankind.

Plain and Simply, it's obvious there is going to be a sequel, no question about it..
As for the game itself. Yes, it has some major flaws that need to be taken care of.. But, personally, even if they weren't and the exact same flawed engine was used in the next, i would still buy it on release day, no questions asked.
AC has a reason for not having an ending…
It has set the stage for an epic story. (Possibly comparable to Final Fantasy's stage)
For those who are creative and can put 2 and 2 together, Assassin's Creed has shown us that even modern games can introduce a classic, and original gameplay factor, and still create a story that really makes you think about what's going on, and something that can confuse you (which is always fun) and question your beliefs of the real world, taking all written content as written content and no gospel.

this is the way i think the sequels for AC will go(and they did confirm it was a trilogy before the first 1 came out). Part 2 will probably be 50/50 or at least split as they will need Altair's memories to help find the other artifacts but they will also get desmond to help in the present because he's an assassin. In part 3 it will be completley in the present as Vidic and the Templars will probably try and kill you and Desmond and Lucy will escape and fight back.
That's what i think anyway

Ehmmm no, not entirely. Lets give this some thought shall we. If you believe the "long-winded death sequences" is a flaw, this game isnt for you. Its all part of giving you background knowledge of why the guys you kill are to be hit in the first place. Without the story-line and all the individual oppinions the game would be an empty, pretty version of 1980s prince of persia.

i just want to play a newer version of it with more difficult enemies. its a master piece. But what about the new game serria is making,prototype, will they be using features like in assassin's creed. I got to say this i hope desmond dies at the end of the trilogy and that he doesn't get any special powers like Al mualim, the last boss, this will finely ruin the game. i just hope that ubisoft doesn't ruin the game like halo2 and 3 or devil may cry 2,3,4 or even metal gear 2,3 or rainbowsix vegas 2, or all other need for speed except most wanted

Assassin's Creed in unbelievable! It's like Grand Theft Auto, 1000 years ago in the Middle East. The ending was anti-climactic because I'm sure they planned on making a sequel from the start. Some people just need to be patient and have a little faith that if the first game was this good, the second will be even better.

ok what i want all of you to do is type in Assassinscreed2.com then cnage the 2 to a 3 and continue till 6. now notice that the site for 6 has not been saved the others however are and being that Ubisoft is a FRENCH company the site you see is also french. (not French-Canadian) this could lead you to believe that there will be 5 games not just 3. now to help prove my point got to wikipedia.com and read the full story of Assassin's Creed. also at the end of the game with the writing on the walls there are more the 2 languages represented. ill let you all discuss now.

yes the game had flaws, but i believe the good outweighs the bad greatly. yes it is repetitive but thats why they keep giving you new weapons and abilities. But on the controversy of AC2…i really do hope that they do the next one in the present and 3 in the future. i don't see why it couldnt b done, i see why it might b controversial but i would like to see it anyway

Just a minor suggestion after reading most of these posts. Think it might be possible that #2 will be present time, with assassins busting Desmond out and stealing the files off of the doc's computer. They'd use these files to find the devices seen at the end of the game. Number two might be repetitive as well, but also have a different area as you prevent the Templars from obtaining any devices. In the end, the Templars go for the last two at once, obtaining one as you defend the other. Then as #3 begins, you must go back to the animus to try and fix the whole thing.
In the possible four and five, time travel devices are built, in four they would only go from present to past and back, and in five they might be able to go to the future.
I'm just a teenage video game player with high hopes of designing games. I feel these are minor guidelines to four awesome sequels to one awesome game.

Assassins Creed was 1 of the best games i have ever played. i cant wait for part 2 to b out.
lots of people think it will b about a ninja i think Altair will stay, they cant just have him for one game. the game is based on him.

So there is most deffinately going to be sequels, i think everyone know that. But the story was not about what the templars were doing in the 12th century, it was about what they were doing now, so i think that the sequel will be mainly in the past to see how the templars/assasins impacted history. then the 3rd will be fully out of the animus, finishing the templars. Also, i dont see there being a future AC, i mean a main part of what they did with it was its historical accuracy or whatever, so i don't think they could keep that going with a future game.

i think that the girl templar of the first is lucys ancestor and both desmond and lucy go in the animus and fight together, this would be sweet only if it was multiplayer. ac2 has to go off of ac1's ending cause it would just piss everyone off if it didnt. there was no ending to the first one so i think that the hint to the 2nd ac is in the clues of the first

the clues are the writing, like the whole bleeding out thing is a clue to whats gunna happen, becuase if you read the emails the guy before desmond wrote all that because he was bleeding out and becoming his ansestor, so desmond is gunna become altair, also the fact that he has eagle vision is a hint at this happening too

Obviously it had some flaws such as repetitevness, but it was really a great game.I also think Ubisoft might suprise us with a totally unexpected setting. I think i'm gonna do what Pufje said and sit back, relax and wait for the next one to come out. Oh and no matter what game you buy there will always be something somebody doesn't like so give it a rest. It was an awesome game.

desmond will complete the bleeding process at the end of the trilogy and i think in the final game he will have 2 giv up his life in the animus 2 save the world from templars and at the beginning of AC2 it will start where AC1 ended and lucy and vidic will enter the room saying the artefact wasnt there and force desmond 2 get back in the animus and the story 4 AC2 will start and they will discover that altair has hidden it at the location of the assassins base and the assassins will rescue desmond and will find the peice of eden and there will be a cliffhanger at the end and AC3 will have the assassins break into abstergo 2 get 2 the animus so desmond can find out from altair how 2 destroy the peice of eden as altair couldnt because he was 2 weak and is what i think
oh and in in AC1 when u went how did desmond have dreams about the blood writing in his room

First: The Game Was Set In 2012 but he was kidnapped couse they wanted info blabla.

by the way the ending was horrible but speaking of AC2 and mayby AC3 i really hope it sticks to the past …. to me the game would be best with just swords, daggers, midieval shit, i think it would be gay if altiar is running around with an ak-47 ………… i also really think atiar should have more of a variety of weopons, like throwing/fighting with a hatchet, or like a chain with a blade at the end that u see ninjas use, or ninja like weopons, but u kno wut i meen

The ONLY WAY HAVING A SEQUEL IN THE PRESENT WOULD BE COOL IS OF THEY PULL ALTAIR INTO THE PRESENT AND HAVE HIM AND DESMOND KICK ASS TOGETHER.
ALSO, MERRICK, THE ASSASSIN WITH NO ARM SHOULD BE IN IT. HE'D MAKE IT COOL IN A WAY. I want to find out about Desmond's parents, and the assassin's that came to save him. Were they any good, or were there just too many templars for the 6 or 7 assassin's that came to save Desmond. What happened to Desmond after finding out about Subject 16? What happened to Lucy? What happened to Altair after he assassinated Al Mualim? How did the assassin's go almost instinct? How did the templars gain so much power if the assassin's are the ones with the artifact? etc., etc., etc. They have all these questions to answer, so I think they're going to stick with Altair and the Crusades. Just because they had some Japanese text at the end doesn't mean ti will be in Japan. They had other languages as well. Hebrew, English, Islamic, etc.

Their genetic and real-time memories have literally 'bled' into one another, which is why Desmond is able to use the Eagle Vision power at the end of the game

A. Be patient! Assassin's Creed is the first part of a trilogy. By the end of the third game Desmond will have a lot more moves to play with.

AC2 based or partly based in Ancient Japan? ….
when using eagle vison at the end, im quite sure there was a message saying "yona guni" which is a island off the coast of mainland Japan. Look it up, there is info on it saying it may contain some of the oldest human structures and the ruins of an advanced ancient civilisation.
Other clues point to Peru… i.e. the Nasca Lines…

I think ac waz a great game! bu the ending waz weird! ovcourse ders going 2 b a 2nd one! . wat i think iz going 2 happen: desmond will escape wit lucy n find his family n also find the assassin(s) that did that red stuff at da end.n try 2 stop da templaris , altair will bcome leader of da assassins and some how cause a even bigger war wit templars n those other ppl already fighting. i think lucy holds the key 2 da ending as she knows alot n may also b an assassin.
who knows?
i just hope da next one will b as gud r better dan da AC1.

Personally i found the "long winded Death sequences" to be the kind of thing that made this game good. you cant tell me that the 5 types of missions kept you entertained. it was the great dialogue and engrossing story. on a sidenote, imagine if ubisoft did the next batman game. read that in oxm and it was the greatest idea i have heard. the dark knight fucking climbing bildings like that?

AC was great. I personally loved the tasks that are given to us (More would be apreciated in the next game titles). Im not going to speculate as to what Game 2 or 3 will have in it, but some things can be easily ruled out. Game 2 and 3 will be either past or present. Future in AC is highly questionable because of the fact that in the game it says that the world will end on December 12, 2012 A.D., which is very close to the date this game is set in. By reading the Emails on the computers youll find that that is the date that the Templars plan to launch the satilite.
The death sequences were good, they game storyline, but I still thought it was odd. If you had the time to talk to the targets once you attacked, what prevents the guards from killing you? Thats just my say on it.
New weapons would be good. I was hopeing for a crossbow all through AC1, but found that you never get 1 once i beat the game. If game 2 is set in the past, or if Desmond still uses the Animus as Altair, then a crossbow, bow and arrows, and more could be used (Imagine useing a bow to shoot a arrow with a rope on it across a large gap between buildings, and riplining it to the other side. Sweetness).
All I can do is wait for the sequal, and hope that some Info on the game is released as we wait.

Alright. So I'm a little confused about the templars in the present with Desmond and for future AC games. In AC1, one of the achievements of Altair was to kill all of them. Where do all the present ones com from? Any guesses. Who will we be supposed to assassinate in later games other than main targets and guards? I hope they put an explanation in the next game.

I really dont get why you guys havn't picked it yet.
After desmond aquires "eagle vision" he and lucy (miss stilman) escape the abstergo building together and join the last of the assassins.
Desmond gets a slight "bleeding effect" (look it up in the assassin's creed article on wikipedia) and becomes like Altair in modern days.
He pursues the templars and stops them from getting at the peices of eden, and eventually assassinates Vidic(end boss).
