I think Rock Star need to just be honest here and put their hands up to the fact that maybe this time they've simply pushed to far.

They've constantly been trying to push the envelope for disturbing content for years and have been lucky enough to get away with it thus far.

Everyone remembers the big who-ha when GTA first appeared on the scene.

And they've constantly pushed it further and further since.

Quite frankly i'm suprised it taken this long for the BBFC to stand up and say "No, enough is enough"

All that said tho, I still feel the decision should be left to us, the consumer.

The arguement being kids shouldnt play this and thats why they ban it is frankly stupid.
It should be the shops held accountable for selling games to under-agers same way as they are for Cigerettes and Alcohol.

Why punish the developers and those actually old enough and mature enough to understand and accept the content for what it is.

''Unless you make the whole thing pastel-colored and set it to 80’s music…actually, that’d be pretty interesting to see''
That'd probably entice me into murder rather than dissuade me. LOL

''you don't participate or choose the outcome in movies, unlike games.''
At least in the game, you can be given that choice, but in a movie the choice isn't up to you at all, the gore has been chosen for you.

"The BBFC allows adults the freedom to decide for themselves when it comes to horror in movies"

No they don't.

They are certainly more allowing than they used to be but they still cut/ban a hell of a lot.

The argument relating to horror in movies isn't really that effective; you don't participate or choose the outcome in movies, unlike games.

The BBFC has the right idea (sad to say)...
