David Bowie’s new track pack (which is comprised of three songs, two of which are covers) is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace in bundle form for 440 Microsoft Points, or individually at 160 Microsoft Points. The release marks what I believe is the first time that the title of a piece of Marketplace content has had to be censored, meaning it will subsequently be censored in this news story because A) I don’t want to risk getting in trouble and B) I don’t actually care about David Bowie, and nor does Ron so there’s no one to yell at me.

The three songs are Queen ***** (which is apparently listed as “Queen ***” on Live, because two more asterisks would create mass hysteria) and Heroes, which are the two covers, and Moonage Daydream.

PS3 owners, it’s likely you’ll be getting this Rock Band DLC on Thursday with the usual PlayStation Store update, so you’ll have to wait until then if you want to rock out to David Bowie.

Yeah, earlier this month when we first got the news about Bowie, I – like most people – was less than thrilled. Queen Bitch is a really strange song, you don’t know if he is jealous because his buddy is hooking up with a woman instead of him (a guy), or if he is upset because he wants her for himself – Also at times you do not know if it is a woman or a drag queen he is describing. Androgyny is so prevalent in his music sometimes, that it is hard to discern what he is singing about at all.

  2. William says:

David Bowie is really crazy. I kinda wish they would add the song “The Laughing Gnome”. That’s my favorite Bowie tune.

Ha ha ha, hee hee hee
“I’m a laughing Gnome and you can’t catch me”

  3. Mr. Sadistic says:

Wait, what? Censored? I just looked on the Marketplace right now and the title is not censored.

  4. Steve says:

Everytime I sing (*gasp*) Suffragette City, I promptly replace the “City” with another “like” sounding word.

In fact, I’m going to start making up lyrics for songs in Rock Band I’m tired of already. Just have to stay on pitch…
