Rock Band Bundle Box

Chris Kohler over at Wired.com’s Game|Life in one lucky SoB. At his doorstep today the mailman left a present in the form of the Rock Band bundle. Tearing into it like a kid on Christmas Eve, Chris exposes the massive Rock Band bundle contents to the rest of the world. When placed next the Guitar Hero III box, the Rock Band box dwarfs its cousin. This thing is literally massive. And rightfully so, once you see what’s inside.

Thanks to Chris, we get to see piece by piece what a Rock Band purchase will net us. Chris graces us with photos of the Fender Strat Guitar (wired because it’s a 360 bundle), the (Logitech?) microphone, accessories, and of course the drum kit itself. The drum kit alone probably consumes the vast majority of the box.

Not stopping there, Chris also goes through assembly of the drum kit itself. Surprisingly, assembly of the drum kit it 6 easy steps.

You have to admit, you are getting a lot in the Rock Band bundle for its $160 price-tag. Really, it’s more like $100 since the game disc itself is an inclusive cost. The drum kit looks really well designed. I just hope it’s as rugged as Harmonix claims it is. The creed of many drummers and wannabes is to beat things with sticks to death. The drum sticks are even wooden!

November 20th can’t come soon enough.

Anyway, this is pretty cool news. As a drummer, I’m really excited to see a “Drummer Hero”, if you will, that I can use along with my guitarist friends.

Indeed. Rock band is more about the “We” and less of the “I”.
