Lamesauce drums? Latest Game Informer tells me otherwise:

http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11340

The new Harmonix drum kit is basically the same look. The upgrades are pretty much what the community has already been doing anyway (sound dampening, metal reinforced pedal, etc). One would assume at this point the new controller will perform far better and more durable, despite the traditional look.

Now, the ION kit just looks wicked awesome. I'm just afraid they'll charge an arm and a leg for it. I'm sure as hell am not paying $300 for what is essentially still a drum controller for a game. Thus my comment of "awesome" does not extend beyond that of a game controller. Still far from the real deal.

It also looks like DT's Panic Attack is a confirmed RB2 rack. Get ready for the blisters...

I think you misread -- I wrote that I know you can use the old instruments, but I'm going to feel like I'm missing out if I don't get the new instruments.

I cant remember where i saw it now, but it was an official statement from harmonix .. you WILL be able to use old instruments in RB 2. YAY!

Which is good for poor people with small apartments, like myself  I'm not buying the full package, i'll just be getting the disc and that's it.

They said that the new instruments are going to be improved versions of the current ones, that's all i heard, they havent given any details on the new instruments, to my knowledge.
