mp3screen Retro Takes Metroid Vacation“Alright, we’re sick of this! I’ve had it with Samus. Enough is enough.” These were things Mark Pucini, director of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, could have said while crushing rocks with his fist. Instead, he politely stated in a Yahoo Games interview that Retro Studios would be “taking a break from the Metroid series and from Samus.” He goes on to say, “I think…that there will be other titles created, but as far as Retro Studos is concerned, we’re taking a break for a little bit.”

I’m not totally sure what this means. When I take a little break, it’s usually about 15 minutes, and then I get back to whatever I was doing. Does he mean they’ll make some other games for a while. Isn’t that what most game studios do?Of course, Retro Studios never made anything that wasn’t a Metroid game. I’d be pretty sick of orange myself. Maybe they’ll finally finish Raven Blade. Oh, cross your fingers.
