Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles Shuffles into Stores

Capcom has given Resident Evil fans and Wii owners something to smile about today - Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, a Wii exclusive, is now available. Ready to start shooting zombies and find out exactly what was going on with the ominous Umbrella Corporation? Of course you are, and this highly anticipated game should give fans waiting on RE5 something to chew on until it comes out. Hopefully, it will not totally suck like Resident Evil: Outbreak did - remember when Capcom announced that “anything goes in this nightmare” when the game came out? Well, it was indeed a nightmare - to play that is, and being a huge fan of the series and Capcom, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that REtUC will be fun despite the FPS/rail-shooter aspects of the game. Anyway, I have posted a trailer below to give you a taste of what to expect if you decide to go out and get the game today. Enjoy.
I liked Outbreak 1 and 2 personally, online play is one of the best ideas for the series, though if RE4 controls were introduced in an online version, no holds bar for that game being sold out. I can’t wait to pick up RE:UC today, I’m positive this won’t be like Dead Aim.
I forgot about Dead Aim. How horrible that was!
Regarding the question about The Umbrella Chronicles sucking or not… just head over to metacritic or gamerankings. You’ll find some reviews at those sites.
GamePro scored it: 8.5
Gametrailers gave it a score of 8.3
Famitsu gave it a 32 score. (4 editors gave it an 8 score each).
IGN scored it: 7.9
1UP scored it: 7.5
Pretty awesome scores for an on-rails game, IMO. So far, the average score for the game is 8.0
Just to make a comparison, “Dead Aim” scored an average score of 6.5 and was one of the best on-rail games made by Capcom before they made The Umbrella Chronicles.
And in case anybody is wondering… “Resident Evil: Survivor” received an average score of 3.9
So one thing is for sure. The Umbrella Chronicles won’t suck.
Oh ya, that’s the one I meant, Survivor, I never had a chance to touch Dead Aim, got them confused. Getting it today now.
