Resident Evil: Outbreak and Monster Hunter Online Service Shutting Down

Bad news for the people still playing Resident Evil: Outbreak and Monster Hunter. Capcom says the online servers for the game will be shutting down on Dec. 31. Apparently the company providing the hosting service has decided to exit the PS2 market altogether, leaving Capcom with little choice:
And just so you know, although these are older titles, we did want to make an effort to keep the fans happy and continue supporting online play. We’ve tried to extend the contract, move it someplace else, etc. It’s not happening. The hosting partner (who I guess remains nameless here) is just quitting the business entirely and doesn’t want to mess around with the time/money involved in porting anything. Thanks to everyone who has kept these games fun online for so many years.
Didn’t know people were still playing RE: Outbreak, but I’ll bet there are at least a couple people out there who are pretty upset by this.

After reading thru this article and skimming over some of the comments ive noticed a few things. True it is very irritating that capcom's online providers just dropped from the map but what every seems to be forgetting is that they never payed anything special for the online play. I see plenty of messages whhere people over-react and say that they'll "never play another capcom product again" because they took the special prize inside out of their box of Cap'n Crunch. The fact is, you didnt pay anything for the online play aside from the basic price of the game, so you have no right to flip out like something has been stolen from you. Sure it sucks, but thats one of the risks of free-play online. Without getting payed, the providers can do whatever the hell they want with the game. So just try to keep that in mind.
