In what appears to be the only thing that can come out of the mouth of Reggie Fils-Aime’s mouth (or perhaps the interviewers speaking with him) is the subject of the shortage of Wiis. Speaking with MSNBC, Reggie stated Nintendo’s stance in clear terms: “In absolute terms, it is highly, highly unfortunate that consumers cannot find a Wii to purchase.
“And anyone who suggests that a shortage is good for business really doesn’t understand business. We want the consumer to walk into any retail establishment and find the product. And that’s what we’re working tirelessly to make happen.”
He should threaten to step on anyone who accuses Nintendo of creating shortages rather than point out their lack of schooling in Business 101. Just a thought.
The Nintendo of America president spoke just last week about how there is no conspiracy to create a shortage of Wiis and how Nintendo was doing its best to catch up with demand.
