Tripwire Interactive has announced a brand new update for the popular online World War II game, Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45. The update will include 10 new maps (some with new vehicles), an increased player limit, and a new promotion tied into it.
“The ten new community-made maps are winning entries in Tripwire’s Custom Map Competition. Highlights include “Smolensk Stalemate,” the contest winning map featuring infantry combat through ruined villages and trenches, and “Berezina,” a rural village map that introduces a new light tank that carries riders and the first functional anti-tank gun in the game. Tripwire worked with the developers of each of these maps to ensure the maps are optimized, polished, and gameplay balanced.”
There’s also a new soundtrack for the game included. The new player limit is also now increased to a possible 64 players, though the higher numbers will require a more heavy-duty server.
Accompanied with the update, users can now send out a 10-day guest pass for Red Orchestra to two friends. People who buy the game before June 11 will also 20% off the retail price. For information and a trailer for the update, check out Steam’s site here.
