Coming just in time for Christmas 2009 will be Red Mile’s gaming version of Frank Miller’s Sin City universe. While this is great news for the small developer, the most exciting thing for them is the fact that they secured the rights to all seven of Miller’s graphic novels which fans like me have read until they have fallen to pieces. This is also good news for those that thought the game would be a movie tie-in when the second flick hits theaters because that is not the case -the games are licensed off the novels not the movies. Therefore, we do not have to worry about another crappy movie/video game abomination – now we just have to worry about how these fantastic bits of noir transfer into the realm of interactive gaming.

President and COO, Glenn Wong, of Red Mile had this say about Sin City the game and “Sin City 2″ coming out next year:

“We wanted to go back to the source material instead of the filtered version that people saw on the big screen. We’d like to think that we’ll be able to capitalize on whatever awareness of ‘Sin City’ is generated by the second film, but, frankly, I don’t even know when that’s scheduled to be released.”

Using the Unreal Engine 3, Sin City is expected to launch for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii . Wong is hoping that the game will be well recived so that gamers can expect sequels to include the entire Sin City series, which if it does indeed do well he should have no worries.
