Red Faction: Guerrilla Screens – Now With Mechs!

THQ has unveiled a batch of screens showing off their upcoming Red Faction sequel. This entry in the series will depart from the previous games’ linear, FPS setup in favor of an open world third-person perspective. However, you will still be playing as an insurgent fighting against an oppressive corporation on Mars. Personally, I have a hard time getting too excited about Red Faction: Guerrilla, since the previous installments were pretty “blah” all-around. Maybe the change to an open-world game will shake things up a bit. We’ll have to see.

The original Red Faction was anything but ‘blah,’ my good sir.
For real, Red Faction (the original) was one of the greatest shooters of all time, and the environmental damage is unlike anything even to this day.
You could literally destroy everything in the map you were on.
There was nothing so fun as tunneling your way through the level to get to your destination.
