Red Alert 3 to be Announced Soon? A Highly Likely Rumor

redalert3mag1.jpgCommand and Conquer 3 is a great game, but you know what I really want? Another RTS set in an alternate history where Albert Einstein traveled back in time to kill Hitler, leaving the Soviets able to build up their forces and try to take over the world through mind control. I’m not joking either; I loved the Red Alert series for it’s great action and bizarre story. That’s why it comes as awesome news to me that Red Alert 3 may soon be announced by EA. The cover of the next issue of the Hungarian gaming magazine, PC Guru, was recently leaked onto the internet with their eye-grabbing cover story about the upcoming sequel. The words below the title translate to “World Premiere: Red Alert 3, 20th page; We ventured to Los Angeles to try out the newest installment of this legendary series personally.” Of course, this isn’t an official announcement yet, so I’m still classifying this as rumor; but that’s kind of like how I sometimes classify Taco Bell as “healthy.”

I’d just like to point out that since this news has gone up, the direct image link from PC Guru has gone AWOL. Perhaps by chance…but perhaps a big game developer trying to hide something till the 14th, which was when there was to be an announcement on the official CnC site. Me thinks yes.

Red Alert 2 – greatest game of all time!

I’ve spent so much time on this game it isn’t funny. Now, after five years of not playing it, it’s going to suck me back in, and I love the thought of that!

Bring it on all you little president-hacking whores, I’ll still beat you!

strat – 2 harriers to kill any vehichle and a rush with an engineer to your MCV, you’re done!

Red Alert 2 was hardly a game to take seriously, it was a souped up Tiberian Sun with a ridiculously cheesy and dumb story.
Reminds me of the time when the highly-likely rumor about Diablo 3 was released – several years passed, still no Diablo 3.
